I am currently restoring a 1963 Falcon Sprint that was built by Dearborn Steel Tubing to race the Shell Rally 4000 in Canada. The car came in 3rd in the grueling race. After the Rally 4000, Holman and Moody got the car to prepare it for the Marlboro 12 hour race. I was told that an early hipo was one of the changes made for the race. The race was in August of 1963. The car was leading the race until the brakes failed and the car hit a concrete abutment. Ther race history of the car continued when an employee of Petty Enterprises put a 427 in the car and took it drag racing. I am restoring the car back to when it was road raced. I have an early hipo engine (March 1963) but I am missing the correct date coded fan, damper, distributor and intake. I am hoping to get a little help from this group in getting the car back to the way it was raced in 1963.
