Need an original rear brake line bracket for a dual exhaust to

change over a 65/66 transverse exhaust. I've given up on the

    repros....Mustangs Unltd. thinks an 1/8" thick, 1 1/8" wide

strap with a round hole for the brake line is the replacement.

And they had the "cajones" to price it at $5.95. Had it been

close to an original, I wouldn't have called them up and told

them what I thot of the part....got my money back AND the

worthless piece of Krap they sent me in the first place!

    What is happening to our hobby?????<img src=images/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

Be carefull in buying old originals and many of the

S2MS's as well: the extreme corners had a tendency

to crack off when the intake bolts were tightened

and had to be heliarched back together. Also, where

the intake terminates a head water jacket hole,

there will be eroding of that aluminum surface.

When buying sight unseen, it's buyer beware unless

you find an honest seller or have someone trusted

enough to inspect OLD aluminum as these intakes are.

Had owned it and somehow lost interest due to later models....

Since owning my 64.5 07K for many years, the above 09K and

the present 07K never crossed paths tho I did keep the 09K's

Az. personalized plate, it would be nice to reacquire the fb.

The last I heard, it was somewhere in Ca. as a hulk w/o any of

it's HiPo parts. Would anyone have more info leading to it's

    present location?

    Thanks.

"In Search of Mustangs" helped me a lot in deducing

most of the info on the door tag of my 64.5 07K as it

hadn't come with the original driver door. And, lucky

for me, it had never been seriously restored and the

original paint was below a poorly laid on coat of

    primer.

Any serious early Mustanger's library should have this

    book in it.

Does anyone have a source for USABLE repro driprails: I'm needing a

set for a 66 fb? Many people have had bad luck with most repro's,

myself included with my 64.5 07K. In that case I ended up with a decent pair of used driprails.

I'd settle for a USEABLE 2nd hand pair....

I second the maintenance free/sealed battery. My 64.5 K has gone thru

one and is on the second in 8+ years, the first lasted over 6 years

in the desert SW. I wouldn't have another "lead/acid" in any of my

5 Mustangs even tho the sealed battery is NOT CHEAP: the acid spew

    makes for a MESS!!!!

I have bought my repro/sealed 24F batteries from Virginia Mustang and will continue to do so as long as I need them/as long as they are available/as long as I have my Mustang(s).

The outer belts have a special end plate which, when bolted to the

floor, position the webbing to the edge of the lower fiberglass piece.

The belt then comes up between the fiberglass piece and the lower seat. Hope that makes sense...

Concur on the Dot 5 silicone brake fluid, tho I don't

have the solid brake pedal feeling as with the Dot 3

    fluid.

The only mod I did on my K was to put a dual reser-

voir MC and never painted it...NO rust in more than

8 years! Might it have something to do with the Dot

3 fluid being hygroscopic or is it hydroscopic, anyway

that's the ability to take up H2O.

Another positive with Dot 5 is it won't eat paint like

under the proportioning valve when it starts leaking.

A little late but I have had success installing Monte

Carlo bars after jacking up the front of the car and, with

1 jackstand each under the torque boxes at the firewall,

suspend the car weight on the 2 jackstands. In every case,

tho, the Mustang unibody has been structually sound...no

major rust problems to possibly cause unibody distortion.
