Hello,
New member in Ontario, Canada with a 1964 Falcon Futura convertible. The car was originally a 260, 3-speed manual. The car is now equipped with a K-code (VIN 6R09K163867) from a 66 GT-350 along with a 4-speed toploader from a 70 Fairlane and a 9" rear with 3.89 gears. Although I have no idea it would seem that the driveline was modelled after the 7 1965 Canadian built K-code cars.
Some of the external components are not original (distributor, carb, fuel pump, water pump). I believe these items may have been transferred from the 260.
I've been unsuccessful in reaching the previous owner that I believe may have done the conversion.
I did however contact the 66 Shelby registry I learned that there was record of the GT-350 up to 1986 and bounced between Ontario and Michigan (where the PO was located).
What happened to the GT-350 and how the engine ended up in the Falcon I guess will remain a mystery.
Just thought I would share this story.
