What do you mean by more expensive? There is only about a $5-10 difference in price between the blue bottom air cleaners, and that is from every vendor I looked at. The early double hump is twice the price.

Yes, but all of the parts houses only offer 65-67 2v/4v lines. That’s all the description says. I have no idea what line will come when I order one. Customer service doesn’t know, as the parts are in a warehouse.

What is the best hipo reproduction air cleaner currently available, and where? It makes my head hurt when I look at all of the different options. I took the stock one off to preserve it, and want a good one to use for shows and driving. I also need an air cleaner to carb gasket(4100). Any input? Thanks!

My 66 has a 65 pump(with the spin on filter). I’m putting a stock carb on it. I don’t like the current setup, which uses the small piece of rubber hose to connect the two.
I wan’t the highest quality piece, and would prefer it fits like oem. Cost isn’t an issue. Any feedback would be appreciated.

What is the part number for the correct hipo, pump to carb fuel line? The solid metal line with the flare fitting, that goes straight into the carb. There are so many vendors and lines, it’s hard to know what you are going to get. Thanks!

It’s very difficult to pick up a C code fastback in the condition pictured. I just don’t see a kar selling for that little, especially at a car lot. To me it looks like a fishing expedition for deposits. That’s how these low price scams are run. They use a legit business address with a fake website, and contact info.
If it’s too good to be true...

At that price, it looks like a scam to me.

Yes. I’m the buyer.

I didn’t catch that, and will try email. Thank you!

Do you by chance still have these? Thanks

How did you end up finding her?

Awesome, what are his plans for the car?

I talked with the owner of this kar a few months ago, and it sold for $4500 locally.

I found some, thanks for the tip. On another note, where is the best place to get the weights, springs, and jumper strap?

Does anyone have a picture of a stock dual point distributor with the cap off they could post? I have a kar that was converted to a single point setup. I did a google search, but no dice. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I wondered about that, as the lesser non hipo mid 60’s engines didn’t have them. That explains how so many of these engines blew up.

I have frequently heard that in the 60’s and 70’s people got rid of the rev limiter on hipo cars. Just curious, how was that done?
-
Yes. I understand. Albeit not California, but in my state I can go to the DMV, and when they pull up my name it shows every car I owned. This includes cars from the early 90’s.

Something that may be useful to you, would be going to your dmv, and having them look up the vin on past vehicles you registered in that state. Otherwise it’s very unlikely you will find the car.
