Hi there! Welcome to the club! I can vouch for the 1965 Mustang shop manual, the Jim Osborne books above, this website, YouTube and concours Mustang .com as great references. Also, the MotorTrend archive has original stories from Mustang Monthly and Hot Rod as well as MT from in era that are all very helpful.

Congratulations! Exciting times ahead. You won’t need to purchase a history from a website as everything that is available is available for free for the 1965 model year. A quick search will show you good VIN and body tag decoders. 1967 and newer Fords can get more in depth paid reports from Kevin Marti. Those aren’t available due to the paperwork (stats, etc.) being lost or destroyed for earlier model years.
I have a contact in Texas who location-dependent could look at the car. He owns a K convertible and is an ex-Holley employee from the day with a vast understanding of the early cars. Please PM me for more. -
Cool car! Is there an image gallery available
To view?

Asking price adjusted: $3,500 obo. Hope everyone is having fun with their cars this summer!

Hi Evan - Thanks for the note! I based my asking price on recent k-code carb asking prices here ($5,500) and Ebay at the time. I took $1,000 off my asking price knowing that a rebuild/repair was in order but not full replating, throttle shafts/bushings, etc. Between the discounted asking price and listing as OBO, I figured that was fair at the time.
Asking price is now $4,500 and I'll happily entertain offers or a trade for a S2MS-9510-A/3259-1 reproduction as that's the direction I'm going...

Beautiful manifold. Good luck with the sale. I have one very similar to your A intake but the plenum has been machined…seemingly to allow for cross flow. Anyways, just curious, how/why did you end up with three great 9424s?!?

FYI this is up on eBay now. I’d much rather sell it here to a fellow kar owner so let me know if anyone is interested.

Carb is still available. Let me know if there is any interest or if there are any questions.

Asking price is $4,700.

Hi all,
Would like to sell my clean hipo Autolite 4100 4 barrel carb. It’s a C5OF-L tagged, 4HD date (4th week, August, 1964) coded unit with the expected C40F-AL casting. Booster Venturi’s are coded properly as well, M, BA. Carburetor was rebuilt and refinished around 2003, used for approximately 1,500 miles and presents as an excellent “driver quality plus” right now. You’ll see it’s very clean but could likely use the following:
- air horn tuning
- consider welding foot crack, see pic
Overall a super clean carb for your k code driver that needs a bit of work before prime time.
