Quote1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 HiPo Hi Po 289 Special K code 4201 dual spring fuel pump, button top Carter CARbureTER NOS rebuilt fuel pump. Very nice solid piece. The check valves are tight and the action of the level arm sucks like it should. Both the K codes and Shelby GT350 came with the CARbureTER Carter fuel pumps. This was the original equipment style. Complete your period correct restoration with the right fuel pump. This pump has the look and performance for your K code or Shelby GT350 as it came with from the factory. The dual spring was designed into these pumps to keep the lever arm from floating at high RPM and keep the pump a pumping fuel. I will except Paypal with the Buy-It-Now price. Otherwise, I would prefer a MO. If the pump is not as I described, I will refund your purchase price once returned. Sold "as is". Buy to pay shipping, approximately $16 with insurance. Please ask questions before bidding. Thank you.

Quote from SixfiveGTThanks for the information, now that you mention it I do recall that the color of the data tag indicated type of paint as you mentioned. It would be nice to know if the "G" was on all tags, just some of the tags, or was a running change that Ford is so noted for. Since my tag doesn't have the "G" and it was a late 1965 production car maybe it was a running change, or Ford may have used different suppliers for the tags. Just another Mustang mystery!
Per The Mustang and Cougar Tagbook by Kevin Marti who is licensed by Ford: The sometimes called the "G" plate was made by an alternate supplier to Ford and used primarily at assembly plants where full-size Fords were assembled. According to Kevin it is likely the "G" plate made up for spot shortages at other assembly plants. The Ford script is also different on the "G" plates.

QuoteUp for auction is a NOS black color oil filter. This is a special rare item. These oil filters were used on 1965, 1966, 1967, mustangs, HIPO, shelby, GT and other FORD vehicles from the 60's. these all black oil filters were only installed from the ford factory where FORD cars were built. only brand new mustangs that left the factory floor were installed with these all black rotunda oil filters. these were not sold over the counter. the only ones you see now adays are the ones that the factory works took home with them during that period. i bought this from a guy who worked at the dearborn factory during the mid 60's. he told me he took it home in his lunchpail and had it on display at his home for 40 years. these are on the rare side and would be an excellent finishing detail piece for the upper end show concourse / thoroughbred mustang. impress those MCA judges and separate your car from the others with this rare piece.
"CONDITION" - the oil filter is overall in good condition. there are no dents or dings. however, due to the old age of this item, there are areas where the original black factory paint needs to be repainted or touched up. the very top has about a centimeter where the paint has come off. there is a very light scratch on the side of the case that will not show up when installed on a car, where there is no writing. there are other very small areas that could use touch up as well. the good thing is that the yellow rotunda logo and the yellow rectangle area where all the writing is located is in excellent condition and the writing is clear. overall, it is in very presentable condition even in the condition it is. i would rate this item as a 7 or 8. with a little work, this can easily be a 10. I am fully disclosing all known issues with this so there are no surprises to the buyer.

Why are you using push rod guide plates on Hipo heads?
The tapped holes in the cylinder head for the studs is a modified 7/16-14 UNC thread that is compatible with the threads on the original Ford studs. The minor thread diameter of the cylinder head tapped holes is 0.369"-0.372". Sealer is applied to stud treads prior to installation.

QuoteYou are looking at an opportunity to purchase a very solid K Code Convertible without ANY guessing games! I own two of these cars and the other car is all original, so I purchased this car several years ago with intention of completing a total restoration. Well after a lot of time, money and a new set of baby twins, I got 99% of it done and now the car is for sale. The car has had a complete nut and bolt restoration. A lot of time was take to make sure that as many original parts where kept and rebuilt. The parts that couldn't be rebuilt were replaced with quality parts. The date code shows September 1964, so it is a very early car, but not a 64 ½. All the date codes on the parts and sheet metal are from 9/64 to 11/64. We made sure all of the early stuff was there like the two speed blower motor and switch, the low bend in the shifter, the radio without the 5 on the dial, the proper windshield wiper mounts. If you have any questions PLEASE SEE THE WEBSITE first. IT IS http://WWW.65HIPOCONV.COM ; there is all the pictures and information you’ll need. If you still have questions please let me know. This car IS for sale. I’m not just checking to see how much I can get. The auction is NO RESERVE, and the car will be sold. I will ask that the winning bidder send a $500.00 refundable deposit within two days of the end of the auction. After which time, the buyer will be able to arrange to check out the car. If the winning bidder does not send the money in two days, the car may be offered to the second highest bid. By the way, the person who purchases the car will also receive the original Mustang brochure pictured on the website.
