I have a 8K high profile (1965) repop in my car, wiring like the original,has Mustang on the tach. Looks & works great.....

Have you comfirm you have a spark? If the timing event is off you should still have a spark, but the engine will not start.

I use a Lionel model train transformer that has varible DC voltage settings, works good for bench checking gauges. One caution, I had a NOS gas gauge that bench checked OK, but once installed the gauge read full all the time. Replaced the gauge that bench checked good with another, & all was well.

This set up works well, a drum brake dual reservior master cylinder for a 1967 Mustang, & adjustable proportioning valve.

If needed NPD also sell's the spare tire mounting plate for the SS wheel.

The SS wheel requires a longer spare tire mounting bolt, I believe NPD sell's them.

"K" stamps over towards the other side of the weight.
Could that stamping be an "H" instead of a "K"?

If you think it is a tire/wheel issue take the tire/wheels off your other Mustang & put them on the car you are having a problem with take it out for a ride & see what happens.
