It's great that you are willing to give this part to the currant owner of the K car. I wish more people had your intigrety, and really wish you had the tag for my Kar.

I sulute you for your attempt to reunite the Kar and tag.

Thank you for your attempt in the reunification.

    Jeff

I saw a 65 fastback K code at a show this week and it had tinted glass windows all around (all windows).

I thought the tinted windows was an option that only came with factory AC cars.

Could you order tinted windows as a seperate option for a K code?

I don't know if I should list this in parts or in cars.

    I am giving up on my 65 K code 2+2 built Dec. 15 1964 5F09K372391 door tag 63A A 26 15M 34 5 5. I can't afford to continue.

I have a Dec. 64 Kar. The serial numbers on the inner fenders left and right are there but the one that is viewed from the top of the fender drivers side has been cut out and replaced due to damage and rust. I have the old piece with the matching number. I also have the original door tag. The body was very rough when found with heavy rust on the rear quarters and around the back glass. The rear clip was replaced at the back of the door with a donor v8 fastback (non Hipo. I have all the Hipo items from the original clip in loose condition.

The Kar has new panels on the radiator support, and front portions of the fender aprons (both sides).

The floors are ok with no rust but the overlap of the graft of the rear clip is evident. Rear quarters are a bit dinged and slightly damaged but not bad and easily repaired.

All parts to complete the Kar are there including interior Minus radio as dash was cut for larger unit and heater unit. No windshield but all other glass is there. The Kar presently has a v8 8" rear end.

All 14" tires are new and wheels were blasted and painted black no hubcaps. The original 9" rear is available as well as the original leaf springs as a seperate offering.

The front suspension is original Hipo including steering sector, springs, sway bar and drum brakes.

The original choke cable is included.

The original HEH T trans was completly rebuilt replacing all interior components over 2000.00 invested and available as a seperate item.

(The engine is availble as a seperate item with all the Hipo parts.Engine dated L 64. Heads were swapped out in the 80's for a set of Hipo heads that were built with larger valves 5C date code. The Hipo heads were totally rebuilt including 3 angle valve job 1.94 and 1.60 manley valves slight porting and minor decking and all new springs. Flow diagrams of the heads are available. These heads have never been run since rebuild and are in new condition.

The engine has the original Hipo crankshaft that still has orange paint and the original Hipo rods with rectangular heads.

The intake is dated K 64 and the Hipo balancer is dated L4, the original Hipo exhaust manifolds one date H64 and the other is unreadable but original to the Kar.

The cam is a new one purchased from Marv.

The original Hipo distributor is a L4 date and in perfect condition.)

Additonally the original flywheel with orange paint and test mark is also available seperately as well as the bellhousing.

I am looking for a fair offer here on the forum before sticking the parts on Ebay.

Welcome back, I live in Ga. but have family in Ardmore and travel there a good bit. I have 3 mustangs, 65 HIPO 2+2 undergoing restoration, 64 1/2 restomod coupe, and a 65 2+2 project awaiting.

    Maybe we can meet someday.

Anyway glad to have you aboard.

    Very intresting and useful information,

I have #76 mustang, coupe, 260, 2 barrel, auto. I had it restored in 2000 and as it was disassembled you could see old grease paint numbers on the various body parts. There was also a tie down point on the front chassie rails. I was informed by the restorer that he heard the first 100 Mustangs were built torn apart and rebuilt as they were used as the prototypes to set up the production line.
