I have a 3911 button top also, dated Oct '64. Its too late for my Aug '64 car. It has a detent on the body but not on the arm. I'd like to trade it for the correct pump for my car.

My August 7 '64 San Jose build has an Aug 20 intake. I've always wondered if it was original to the car.

Was the cut-off date Aug 20th '64?

I used Year Round Transportation, Spartanburg, SC 800-784-7951 to transport my '93 LX convertible from Wisconsin to Tennessee in April. ($700 enclosed carrier) December 2000 they delivered my '65 convertible from CT. Quick pickup and delivery, dependable.

My August '64 convertible fits in that category, too - no frame rail plates or extra holes for the hangers. I was hoping that the absence of frame rail plates in the early K's issue would be addressed with the 4th edition. Previous owner(s) installed duals with the GT trumpets on my car. They used the tie-down plate frame bolt holes for the rear hangers. I plan on converting back the correct transverse system in the future.

I still have Dot 3 in mine. What's the proper procedure for flushing the system and replacing with Dot 5 while still installed on the car?

That's great to know. The 3rd member and bracket in the photo above are on my car now.

Is this one of the later styles?

My car in the late 1970s as a "GT" clone. The page is from Dean Batchelor's 1984 book "Harrah's Automobile Collection".
Photo taken while on display at Harrah's Auto Museum, Reno, NV. Previous owner returned car to non-GT status.

I finished my convertible's re-carpet project last weekend. I used the black ACC 80-20 from VA Classic Mustang. I had problems with the passenger side area where the rear floor pan extends up under the quarter trim. There was a major wrinkle/crease that wouldn't flatten out. The driver's side fit was better. After numerous trims and heat applications the wrinkle slowly went away. I laid the carpet in place about a month before I started the actual install. It seemed the floorpans were deeper than the carpet was molded, even though I used the Ssnake-Oyl underlayment. The area below the kick panel also had several minor wrinkles. I also know my black carpet will start fading almost immediately.
