All my hopes, dreams and aspirations to complete a Real K code went away with one phone call for my now 3rd Activation. So……..Up for Auction, One 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback K code Project car. I have clean and clear title with this car.

This car is a rolling body only, no motor, transmission, interior or glass. Anything not pictured is not there. The car is located at my shop and I will be happy to answer any questions asked via eBay email. I have what I feel to be a low reserve on this car.

Condition: for a project car this is an excellent find, Solid Rear Frame Rails, Solid Floor Pans, Solid Rockers, Solid trunk Floors, Nice usable Doors, New front and rear valance (repo) usable hood and deck lid. Mechanical items include, 9” rear end (not correct) HHC-AX steering, Heavy Duty Sway bar, front springs and leafs. Some Disc brake core items (I don’t believe the car was factory Disc) not complete. It has the unique parts to verify it is a real K code car (9”snubber, factory duel exhaust boiler plates, located behind the back seat)

The Bad news, The car has surface rust, some one sanded it down many years ago and abandoned the project. The Front fenders are not the best, I would find others. The pot metal parts on the car are poor, I would find others. The roof has had a tap-dance done on it, I would work it out and not replace it. The left front frame rail has been drug on the ground and warn so that will need attentions, I would not replace the whole thing but patch it where the metal is warn thin. The rear ¼’s have been modified (cut on the edges and hammered in, to fit larger tires) I would spend the time to put them back to factory setting and weld them back up. I believe this can be done, saving the tubes and ¼’s. The gas cap has been relocated (most likely from Raceing days) but only effected the outer shell, and did not disturb the reenforcement structure. If you follow my instructions you would have a 100% Factory Original K code Frame.

History, as I was told. The car was sold new in Phoenix, AZ where it spent all of its driving life, it was raced and put to pasture when the motor was destroyed.

If you have been watching over the past few months a Roof and Title sold for $7,200.00 and a Rusty & Cobbled Fastback with wrong motor sold for $12,200.00 I believe this car is better than both.

Sales Pitch; Here is a very nice and Solid project that should need no serious welding or frame reconstruction. It is a real K code Fastback with some original K code suspension.

    This Ford Milestone car has a fantastic potential upon its completion. <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>For those who don't know the hi po mustang know also as the k code was the most powerful mustang you could buy from Ford in 1965-1966. Of those k codes very few were convertibles. My research indicates less than 2000. I bought it for my business but decided to sell it to get a A code fastback or convertible instead as I do not want to use a rare car in my project. This car is is survivor. Although the car was repainted a few years ago it does have some nicks here and there from daily use. The car does not have the original motor but the engine in it now runs great. This is your chance to get your hands on a great k code project. I call it a great project because it is a daily driver that is in excellent condition. Although some areas of the floors will need attention they are pretty solid. The doors are in great condition. All panels look to be original with all date codes present. The engine compartment is in excellent condition. The wiring harness is also is great condition. The car is very solid with only a couple of areas that need attention. From past experience, none of the panels or floors will need to be replaced. You can patch them and they will look great. In my personal opinion, it would be a waste to replace these panels because of the little area that is rusted as you will see in the pictures. As you will notice in a couple of these pictures, a piece of aluminum was glued to the inside of one of the quarter panels to cover the rust that is at the bottom of the quarter panel. As you can see in one of the picture I removed that aluminum piece and the panel looks to be very solid. The rusted area is at the very bottom by the wheel well and is about 3-4 inches long. The wheel wells are in very good condition. Although the hi po motor is long gone, the HEH top loader 4 speed tranny is still there. The drive shaft and 9' rear end unique to the hi po cars are still present. I have checked the car and all the correct k code identifiers such as the unique bumper plate for the rear end, the brackets under the rear seats for the dual exhaust, the HCC AX steering box etc. are all present. The vins are all in the correct places. I do recommend that all interested buyers come and look at the car in person before placing bids on this car. The reserve is very low so bid to win. It is not often you can find a k convertible project at such a price. If at all possible you should come see this car in person, you will be very impressed. I will take offers through ebay for our mutual protection. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Extra pictures can be emailed upon request. Good luck and happy bidding.<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

That guy is just full of BS when it comes to prices. $70 - $100K for a K fastback? $200 - $3000K for a shelby? But the missing hipo toploader go for only $700. What a joke.

Also, these sellers who hide the consecutive # of the VIN, say they are doing this to avoid scams. Ridiculous! What type of scam? If anybody wants a K VIN, all they have to do is pick up a copy of the Registry. The way I see it, if the VIN is secret, then I am not interested.

I noticed what appears to be the data plate info on the top of the registration. I enlarged it but if someone else can enhance it like Heratio or Grissom can, please do so.

This is what I came up with :

    Body - 63A

    Color - A

    Trim - 26

    Date - 13A

    DSO - 22

    Axle - 5

    Trans - 5

By looking up the date in "In Search of Mustangs" and the K registry, the VIN should start with 6T09K188.

This seller is definately not doing us in the hobby any favors!

    <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>This is a 1966 K (factory High Performance) GT Mustang.

Only one picture will be posted on Ebay. You can see all of the before and after pictures by cutting and pasting this into your web browser. I'm hiding nothing about this car as you will be able to see from the before pictures. I have a 100% rating on Ebay and plan on keeping it that way. This is not a one owner all original pristine car. It has been used and abandoned in the past and now rebuilt, with some original parts, but mostly aftermarket, or reproduction parts.

IMPORTANT! Most of the original HiPo items were stripped off in the past. The steering box is about the only original HiPo part that was not stripped off. The car has a freshly rebuilt STANDARD 289 4bbl engine, 0.030 over. I will be updating this section with all of the information on this car but needed to get it posted now. I DO NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL HiPo PARTS THAT WERE ON THIS CAR. This car was rebuilt with standard or aftermarket parts to be used as a daily/weekend driver and enjoyed. It is not a pristine show car or trailer queen. It's not perfect but gets tons of compliments on the road. Anyone who bids on it should be looking for a very nice Mustang that they can drive anywhere and enjoy and not worry about minor dings or chips but you should be able to make minor repairs as it is still a 42 year old car. I have driven it about 2000 miles since rebuilding it.

Eastwood's paint is terrible. It is way to light in color to begin with but soon after use it turns chalky white. It is also a bear to remove. Expect hours upon hours in front of a sandblasting cabinet to get it off.

I have used the POR manifold grey and am very impressed so far. Decent color. Three years and my manifolds still look like the day I painted them.

Here's a list of 65-68 NOS fog lamp parts for sale. The `67 parts are new-take-off FoMoCo items.
