The style steel wheels were not original when I bought the car. So I changed the rims to 15x6.95 from a galaxie. I added the hub caps since they were just laying around in my garage.

Hi folks,
my name is Abudi and I live in the heart of Europe. Vienna is know for its good food, historical scenery and a few other things. The vintage car scene here is pretty dominant as well.
I’ve been into cars from a very small age. I grew up in Kuwait and my dad always had American cars....therefore my passion for it as well.I have 2 Ks. the first one is a 65 GT fastback and the other one is a 66 coupe. The fastback is unrestored and original with the first paint job.
The coupe i had to rebuild from scratch. It was raced, jumped and had a few bumps here and there. Finding a date correct block was the biggest challenge and after finding it i modified a few things. The major update was the 3x2 holley intake that is really fun to drive. The transmission was missing so i updated it with a T5 worldclass and taking it on roadtrips sure is fun.
And, beside the 2 Ks i have
1971 351 boss
1968 ranchero
1965 mercury cyclone
1973 mach1
I will upload a few pictures in the next few days.
thanks Abudi -

thanks for the update. i doubled check everything yesterday and apparently someone swapped the 3rd member or the pinion. the case is still the original as well as the 28 spline axles. i ordered a 3,5:1 set and will have that reinstalled.
thanks again to all

There are some part numbers on the differential near where it connects to the driveshaft. It would help to post those.
Also, assuming that the rear end came with the car, the door tag on the driver's side has a number or letter code along the top row, second from right end, that would identify the axle ratio. These codes vary depending on the year of the car (and axle).

the door tage says 5 and the car is a 66 coupe...
i'm assuming that means the car should have a 3,5:1 rear axle right??
the numbers are:
4D24
49
i hop ethat helps a little.
thanks

hi,
i have a question about my rear axle. i'm not 100% sure that the axle is correct. there's no tag on it. i tried checking it by jacking up the rear and revolving the tire. i counted the turns on the yoke and ended up with around 5 turns. can someone give me a hint on what rear end is on my car?
thanks

"Only 9, very few. How did you figure that out? I would love to know how many K codes went."
the person i bought the car from has a registrey of all mustangs that went to CH. my 351B is one of around 9-11 cars that were ordered IN switzerland by FORD AMERICA (Switzerland).
so truely a rare find
-
my 351 boss also came from switzerland, like your an original export car. 1 of around 9 that officially went over to CH.
-
hi from vienna....
is your k-code a french export model?

thanks for the warm hearted welcome. if any of you happen to stumble into vienna let me know or shoot me an e-mail and i'd be more than happy to meet up.
any ideas how i can register my car to the registry? i signed up and answered all the question but for some reason the count on the 66 coupe is still at 196.
thanks

hi,
my name is abudi and i live in vienna, AUSTRIA--->EUROPE. people tend to get that mixed up
i am the proud owner a a K-code coupe. i tried registering the car, but unfortunately that didn't work. i've been a mustang fan now for a few years and it seems to get worse with age
i own 4 mustangs
-) 1966 k-code coupe
-) 1969 mach1
-) 1971 351 Boss
-) 1972 convertible
the boss is still in restoration, but all the other ones are in driving condition. i finished restoring my mach1 last year. the convertible (http://www.orientrepro.com/72mustang/72_resto/Welcome.html) was completed a few years back. i try to do everything myself but at times i do get some help from friends. the body work is always done by pros and the mechanical stuff i do myself.
well that's about it.
