    Hey Joe,

Sorry for the delay. I've got the U-joint part nos. for you. The NAPA part nos. are:

    Front: 369

    Rear: 430

They are both outer clip style. When you install them, the zerk fitting should be in a state of compression, such that as the driveshaft rotates, it turns towards the fitting.

    Good Luck,

    Gerald

The rear u-joint is not the same as the front one. The cups that go into the 9" rear end are 1/16" larger in diameter than the ones pressed into the driveshaft. I got mine from NAPA several years ago. I have the boxes and part nos. and can take a look tonight.

I've often wondered what the rear framerail plates were. I've never been able to find them on my car. According to the original owner it had the transverse muffler originally and was changed to regular duals to make room for a trailer hitch. My car was built Oct. 16, 1964 in San Jose.

If you are going to go to the trouble of removing them I would recommend you take the extra step and have them replated with zinc phosphate. Steve Gregori will do the hinges and the hood latch parts for about $90.

By the time you get done cleaning up the grease and beadblasting the parts to prep for paint the plating investment doesn't seem so significant.

I'll give a third reccomendation for Steve. He plated the hinges on my car and a bunch of bolts two years ago for me. Two thumbs up.

Hi Guys, sorry about the messed up posts. I don't have it figured out yet, but if you will check out the above post you can see my twilight turquoise 65 fastback as it came out of a barn in Iowa in 1997 and then the way it is now. My wife and I took it on it's first road trip to see Mt. Rushmore in the Black Hills, S. Dakota.

Beauty!!! There was a '65 Twighlight Turquois fasback in Nashville two years ago. The first time I ever saw this color and it was stunning. Good job!

p.s. To get the picture in the post do it like this, but spell "image" correcly:

Looks like a nice car....my favorite color. However, according to the VIN this car was built in early Oct. of '64.....before the GT or Pony interior was offered. Still, 30K sounds pretty good.
