Thats a nice thought but as I say 1 new arm and 1 older. When these arms are bought new are they one colour and is it up to the owner / fitter to paint them and someone got these back to front ?. Just curious to know as it puzzled me when I first saw them.

Silly question of the day -
My front suspension control arms are silver with black outer ends, one of the lowers is a recent replacement. Every underside shot I have seen of a restored car has black arms with silver outer ends. Does anyone know why mine appear to be reversed, ie aftermarket bits etc etc. Thanks

Date codes and work done?

I have 14" wheels with radial tyres that are the same diameter as a 695 - 14" crossply(25.3") so the car should sit at about stock height. But it may be a tad lower as the radial sidewall may bulge more than a crossply. I think springs both ends are stock, I was not in it when I measured it. If you are planning to open the door over a trailer wheelwell I would not make your wheelwell much more than 10" high to give adequate clearance. Come back if you need any more dims.

I have just measured my '65 FB for you.
Distance from front bumper to rear edge of door = 114"
Gap to ground under open door = 12"
Distance from rear bumper to rear edge of door = 70"
Hope this helps

Thanks for the help everyone. Does anyone elses spring rub on the exhaust?
-
Great I have found those and fitted the spring which is the correct one. It is still slightly bent round the exhaust. I must have a pipe that is formed slightly wrong. I will keep an eye on it, ideally the forward end needs to move toward the engine to miss. Thanks

Hi Fellas would someone please tell me where the forward end of the clutch fork return spring is supposed to hook on to as I am having a dim moment and cannot seem to find a suitable location without it rubbing on the exhaust. I am beginning to think I may have a tab or bracket missing. Thanks

I believe you do live in a wonderful land. Not as green as ours perhaps but all the same I would love to see it one day. Keep well Mark

Thing is Pala we actualy like the rain, positively thrive on it in fact. Why on earth would you want to go somewhere like california or Oz and see all those pretty young things wandering around in their skimpy clothes. Awful. No you cant beat a good old European wet Sunday spent in the garage wondering if the rain is ever going to stop.

Thanks Charles I have looked in most places now, doors, behind gauges, under front / rear seats, in A pillars, under some of the carpet, in trunk sides and over rear wheel housings, above heater when I had it out. Alas no sheet. I am fairly convinced that the old girl is a factory GT though as she ticks all of the boxes that have been mentioned on this site.
-
Thanks Mike, I have looked behind there now as I had to remove the gauges to repair the heater cables, no sheet, but did find the main ALT cable not routed thru ammeter loop - unplugged it passed it thru and bingo ammeter OK.
-
Something wrong with Europeans?
-
Thanks Fred. I have to look in there as the ammeter doesnt work.

Mike, welcome along. I have just imported a K GT Fastback into the UK and have been busy looking round it. I would be interested to know where you found your build sheet as I have had a quick look but have not found one yet. Regards Mark

Thanks for clearing up the one piece / two piece, I need to polish up the back pieces on mine to get them like the ones in the pic.
Is it possible to get the clips from any where ? both my fender ornaments and GT badges seem to be held on by very little.
