I am amazed to hear you were over here, as I have said before my father in law was at Lakenheath for about 15 yrs (when you were there). Nothing much has changed in Suffolk its a great place to live.

I have some clouds for you , this is the view from my backdoor now - 1 day later!!

    Hey Fellas

Took the Mustang to her first show on Monday. This was an annual show held in a tiny Suffolk village miles from anywhere, with no prizes or judging, just a great day out.

The variety or cars that turn up is nothing short of astonishing, the entry list reads like Jay Lenos garage inventory.

A few notables were, Stanley steamer + 2 other steamers, 2 pre war Bugattis, Hispano Suiza, WW1 truck, Facel Vega, Mini Cooper (ex Monte Carlo rally car),Lotus, Jags, Aston DB7 Zagato, Ford GT, Noble,

Many many more + loads of old British stuff from pre war on.

Blue sky and warm beer perfect.

Its OK the guy who looks like he is trying to lever open my vent window is a mate.

It is not much better on this side of the pond. I work in construction and am self employed. All this year I have had only had a few days work ahead at any one time.

I have now run dry. There are things possibly on the horizon, but I know the winter is not going to be great.

The good news is UK house prices are starting to rise again, albeit by a tiny amount, if a bit of confidence returns and the banks start to lend again things will look up.

I shall just batten down the hatches and try to ride it out.

It saddens me that some of you guys may have to sell, I wish you all well and hope you get thru this with your K's

    Mark

Bo can you please tell me what settings you have on the front and rear on your konis

    Thanks Mark

Had a day at home , so thought I would look at trying to get over the problem of a non retractable antenna that would not allow me to fit a car cover.

Removed the antenna. On examining the alloy base part that is normaly under the fender I noticed a small black plastic dot sticking out of the side, looking at the base of the mast below the chrome cone I noticed this was also black plastic.

Carefuly I drilled into the plastic dot just enough to get below the surface and then giving the mast a tug, Hey presto, the mast came out of the base.

There is no wired in contact between mast and base they just fit together.

I gently peened the top of the base to tighten up the grip on the base of the mast.

So now I have an OEM antenna with a removeable mast and the car cover that I bought in February FITS !!!

Dont you just luv it when a plan comes together.

Please excuse my ramblings if you guys have been doing this for years

I have a vac secondary Holley so do not know much about double pumpers, but assuming the secondary system on yours is the same as the primary I wonder if the check ball and weight under the secondary shooter are free and are seating ok if not perhaps some fuel is being pulled up thru the secondary shooter as when you brake there will be a lot more vacuum pulling at that carb with all of the butterflies closed.

Ok I am behind my desk in K Code school, this is a good one for me to learn on.

3 11 2D on the trunk hinge bracket

4 11 D on the inner fender apron. What do these mean ?

The damper mentiond as a C8ZE, I see it is smooth and I thought the replacemnts had a step toward the rear, if the one on the car is incorrect why?

I think the cylinder in front of the master cylinder is the top of the front shock.

Did any K Codes have coil over shocks on the rear? I see lots of this.

    Thanks

    Charles

That pic is very useful. Someone has replaced the flexible hose on my car with a single exhaust one. It is a job to make out but am I right in thinking that the bracket on the correct hose is held by the axle breather fitting? and if so is there any other fittings to go under the hose bracket apart from the breather fitting to secure it?

    Thanks Mark

    Quote from CharlesTurner

Brant: I have an undercarriage pic of 5F07K261914, which should have been early enough to have the transverse system. The pic shows the brake hose bracket off to the side, not near the tunnel like yours. It also shows a normal dual exhaust rear brake hose. The car has had some restoration work on it, so can't say with 100% certainty that this is the original configuration.

Hard to tell in your pic, but are there 2 indents where the bracket would be typically located on the unibody? They are usually perpendicular to each other, used as a locating spot for the bracket.

    Charles

Any chance you could put up that pic showing how a HiPo hose fits to the rear end ?

    Thanks

    Thanks
