Would someone please tell how to identify if a bumper blade was OEM or not.
I have heard the fronts were date stamped, but where?
Were the rears also stamped and where? Thanks
Thanks John, 3 it is then
When I looked behind my pass kick panel there were 4 holes drilled in the sheetmetal.
Two verticaly in line about 2" in front of the door opening.
One slightly higher and further forward than the last top hole.
One in the bottom forward corner.
I am confused by the dates mentioned. Did it change from 3 to 2 and when?
How many screws in my 13th April 1965 car?
Dave, Bo,
I have today fixed the kick panels in the correct locations, thanks to your help.
Cheers Mark
I've lifted 460's and 428's using the carb studs

Thanks Mike good to know
Bo
That is great thanks, I'll send it via PM

Dave
A cunning plan, I did look behind the panel but saw several possible holes that could be used and wondered if there was a definitive stock location
Thanks
Mark
BTW looks like I have repop panels - no holes in panels
I have really pushed the boat out and bought 4 shiney screws to fix my loose kick panels.
Trouble is I have no idea where they go as there are no holes.
Would some kind person tell me where to drill with measurements etc
Thanks

Happy holidays to all you Americans. We have to wait another month before we get to stuff a big old bird !!!!!! ![]()
Very nice. A couple of questions for you, Are the headers and trans painted with anything, is that lifting plate bolted to the inlet with the carb studs? as I have to make one soon and wondered if the carb studs would take the weight of an engine and trans.
Thanks
Mark

Of interest to me is the jack nut and thread that is painted black. I am sure that on this site previously it was mentioned that they should be natural - I have done mine this way.
Anyone have a take on this ?
Stunning!
Has the car been polished in these pics ?
Also what grade of papers did you wet sand with ?
Thanks Mark
Bo
Sorry to be a dummy which NPD kit do I need for a one piece piston - early or late ?
Thanks
Bo
I got the info on the valve from http://www.stangerssite.com.
However there is a decrepancy between what kit is listed on that site for the NPD part number and what NPD list, they are saying the opposite to each other.
I have emailed stangersite asking which kit is needed for a valve that has a one piece piston - either early or late.
Will post feed back when I get it
Mark
Well we are now into the horrible rainy cold weather so I have tackled one of the jobs I have been putting off - Brake proportioning valve.
I wanted to find out whether I had early or late internals so I could get a seal kit and also what the internal condition was.
If it will help anyone my 13th April 1965 car has the later style type A piston to go with the type A KIT 2B091-1BK (NPD NUMBER).
The internal condition was quite good, only one small pitt on the larger diameter bore. The piston was stuck fast at the smaller end beyond the seal but came out ok. It is all cleaned up now and refitted with the old seals. I stood on the pedal hard for about 10 mins and no leaks, but will keep a VERY careful eye on it, will also order a new seal kit.
BTW I had 0.700" of thread sticking out beyond the nut.
