I would suggest putting a post on the
forum. That carb belongs to a 427 Cougar GTE. That is the only car it belongs too. The Holley number you say is the date code - I do not believe is, typically you would go by the Ford tag date code. If it is valid then maybe it is a service part.

I thought the 9" axle had a different snubber plate on the unibody-actually the difference is no holes in the plate for the 9" snubber (maybe 65 only- some plants) and the 8" axle is an A code and 9" axle is a K code

concoursmustang.com (sp?) has a lot of info. They have a library section that has detailing info. The forum has a wealth of info in topics. The exhaust hangers and rear rail reinforce were for dual exhaust cars -> Check for K pinion snubber on body-for 9" axle.
I believe from the discussion on the old forum was that some Metuchen hipo blocks were VIN stamped and some were not-I don't recall if anyone came up with a reason or trend. The other thing is that no K code C4 trans were VIN stamped.

I have a original K Code w/o VIN on engine and trans.
This was discussed in the old forum as I recall.
The speculation is that all 65/66's have VIN stampings on engine trans.
You realize there are a lot of original K codes that did not have a VIN code stamped on engine or trans.
Is it common for 66 manual steering K codes to have an idler arm that is for power steering???
My car's idler arm has light blue paint daub, seems original. MPL indicates light blue is for power steering. I was going to replace bushing and hole ID I think is larger then MS bushing.
