Would any of you be able to post some pictures of the tape and the plastic that you refer to?

Looking for a complete and running, restored engine for a 67 convertible, non HiPo. West coast or close preferred, palleted and ready to ship. Let me know what my options would be on this: 302, 351, ?
Also, a 390 for another project may be needed if this one works out.
Thanks,

Thanks for the info. Since my car is coming back restored to original, I don't think I'll have support issues that rust and sagging would have caused. Also, it didn't have an export DSO, so I think I will forgo an Export Brace to keep it as dealer original appearing as possible. Any opinions on the improvement in handling with just a Monte Carlo bar?

WOW! Great discussion and sharing of data. I'll check my Mar 01 65 and send in the trans data mid-August. Currently trekking in SE Asia, would like to meet up with some HiPo fellas if there are any in Malaysia.
I think I have an HEH-T. My VIN is stamped longitudinally on the bottom spine of the case. Looking forward to sending in pictures for the database.

I have a March 01 plate.

Big 10-4 on Bill Heely - he did my shifter. Impeccable!

Where can one purchase a Monte? If I cannot get an NOS, I'd like something that looks original. Vendor suggestions?
Thanks!

Okay, I take it no one has these. Any suggestions on a new set for the car that reasonable resembles the original? Vendor?
Thanks in advance

On what cars were the brace and bar available, and what cars were typically fitted with them? Was it a dealer-installed performance option?
Thanks!

I went back and read the discussion from the link supplied above. It answered my question: Jim Cowles, yes?
And the link: http://shelbyparts.com
Thanks for the info!

Apologies in advance for my ignorance: Jim Who?

I'd like to purchase a set of shocks for my 65 Dearborn FB. Rebuilt or rebuildable. Does anyone in the trade have a ballpark on prices for either? Were these parts date-coded, or generically stamped out?
Thanks for your input!

I need a set of interior trim pieces that are fastened horizontally above the rear trim panels (for my 65 FB). I think that there are 6 pieces total: curved 2" strips that cover the horizontal joint. Anyone have a set, or a recommendation from whom to purchase a quality (reproduction) product?
As you all know, some of the aftermarket stuff out there is less than ideal. I would prefer NOS if affordable; desired color is black, but not a deal-killer.
Much obliged!

I have a March Dearborn car, so I will look in the places you mentioned when I get to the shop. Hadn't checked on it before, but I read somewhere that there were codes. If you have pictures to share, that would be great - I can't seem to get a clear picture of close-ups because I lack a macro feature on my camera.
Thanks!

I could not find a link re this in the archives. Where does one find the date codes on bumpers, and what do they look like?
I have seen paper tags on bumpers with the part numbers, but I suspect that those were for replacement bumpers. Is this how originals came off the line, or were part numbers also stamped in?
thanks!

I located my date code: it is 5A, or January 65. I looked up your rec on PS Auto Glass and have emailed them for a quote. I also contacted OEM Auto Glass; both seem to have been in the business for some time, and both offer date-coding. Both are in the midwest.
I'll let the site know whom I select and my outcome from using that site so that others can benefit. This is a great site for information-sharing!
Thanks a bunch!

I meant: how does one interpret the date and part codes? I wrote mine down, then left the note at the garage. I remember the Car-Lite logo, but that's all.
-
Thanks for the replies on sources. Now, how about interpreting the date codes?

Does anyone have information on reading the codes on window glass? I was looking at my FB rear glass today, made by Car-Lite, and wondering about the data etched into the glass. That glass is a light green and in good shape. I think it's original.
I haven't looked at the other glass, but I am due for a new windshield, and I think that the driver's glass is scratched, so I would like a source for window glass if anyone has a recommendation.
Thanks in advance!

Great information. I'll go recheck for date codes on the side - must've been covering it with my hand. And that chart is very handy.
Thanks a bunch for the help!
