There is a small drift pin that retains the cable to the T trigger, you remove that pin/the shifter ball and lock nut/ then slide your new boot over the handle,

I got the cable out by soaking the handle in penetrating oil, then cut a metal coat hangar and used it to push out the retainer washer from the top slot hole in the handle out the bottom ,then remove the cable and washer together,

I have a july 63 block but not the casting number you are looking for.

I might have a 63 standard bore standard non HI-PO block i will check tomorrow.

I was working on a 63 galaxie 390 cu in with a cruisomatic fmx cast iron case, there is a leak at the gear selector shaft seal would i have to drop the valve body to replace that seal.

i have 68 4 speed shifter handle that i would like to have re-chromed. how do you remove the reverse lockout cable from inside the shifter ,i removed the reverse pull knob but cant get the cable out, can i leave it in and still have it chromed.

I resurfaced the rear drums on my june 64 dearborn k coupe today and noticed they had fomoco cast on them ,i looked closer and found date codes that read 4 F next to the rim on each drum ,made my day.
