It has been my experience that the repo yellow top coils don't work well and will as you indicated leave you on the highway. I can also tell the repro from the orginal and when judging concours cars with that coil I deduct points. I would suggest that you detail your orginal as they normally work well. I have 40 year old coils on my cars and they have worked great.

Pull the knob out, hold the stem with a pair of needle nose plyers, turn the top of the knob counter clockwise. It will screw off.

Hey Thanks All,
I haven't had a good month of February lots of illness and death in the family. The one good thing is for the photo shoot I had to get the K GT out. I showed the editor of the article what a K car is all about. What a BLAST, made my day.

Craig that was the 65 K GT vert that sold for 78K. I think I judged that car in 04 and it was a nice car. I saw the hammer drop on the A code GT Fastback at 60K. I didn't add the buyers or sellers premium when I posted about that car.

I've just visited the Russo and Steele web site and see that the 1965 K convertible went for $78,100. Barrett Jackson sold a 1965 A code GT Fastback for $60,000 not bad money.

The seller states that he has 3(three) MCA Judging sheets. This would exclude the 40th Anniversary show in Nashville because, judging sheets weren't given out as far as I know. I do know I didn't give out any and and I was one of the judges for some early cars there. This looks like a car I judged at MCA show in Penscola, Fl. around 2005. If that is the case, it's a nice car.

Gary, If you have a good working 8K Rally Pac I think you should strip it down and detail it the correct color yourself. You can buy Black wrinkle paint, Black paint, Parchment paint, lens, trim rings, masking tape and center buttons. I did mine and it turned out pretty good.

Pull the wire at the oil pressure sending unit on the engine. Turn your key to the on position. If the needle drops to (0) it's probally the sending unit.

How does your window sticker and build sheet define the wood grain wheel? In other words what did Ford Motor Corp. call it on the two documents you have.
-
FYI The Rally Pac wasn't a part of the GT package. It was a seperate option on any 65/66 Mustang. Caspian65 is correct however, if ordered for your car it would be the low profile rally pac.

Mike, I like that it's a GREEN thing.

The January 1965 Ford parts and accessories catalog lists part #C2DZ 10718 A for 40/45 amp battery and C2DZ 10718 B for the 55 amp battery. The January 1966 Ford parts and accessories catalog lists C2DZ 10718A for the 45 amp battery (same as 1965) it lists C5DZ 10718 A for the 55 amp battery. It looks like the change was made somewhere in between.

Mike C. It looks like the sixties all over again and I love the colors. Ivy GREEN

Quote from itsahipo
I would like a set of good originals to. I have repos on my car and I have to put the spark plug in the cylinder and palce a sparkplug socket on the front and rear plug, then tighten the manifold to the head in order to remove the plug later on. Very tight between the plug, socket, and the manifold. Anyone else have this problem with repops. Maybe a set of Try-ys instead....Billy
Billy I had that problem with my exhaust manifolds, all it took to fix was lossen the manifolds pull up to the highest point and tighten the bolts. It worked for me.
