I get the impression he's looking for a very specific block. BUT just in case, I have HiPo block serial # 3179. Casting number C4OE-6016-C. Casting date "3L21" (November 21, 1963). Assembly date "3M4" December 4, 1963. Unfortunately, it's .030 over standard and no longer has the HiPo main caps. Let me know if interested. I haven't had the heart to send it to the scrap heap yet.

I'm inclined to believe "Jerry" is a scammer. He just joined today. He has three posts and all are replies to "Wanted" ads. If I'm wrong, I apologize, but the pattern fits the profile.

Block is still for sale.

Still available?
Yes. PM me if interested.

Reduced price.

Do you still have it? I know it's been quite a while. I believe you have sold the caps so just the block? I'm still interested. Terry
I sent you a message several days ago. Haven't heard back.

If you want to sell it, put a price on it. If you want "offers," just put it on Ebay.

Complete set of main caps and bolts off a 75 model 302. $325 shipped.
-
Have you verified that the correct caps are included? They're not pictured in the auction and the seller states "all bolt on items have long been sold." Seems like a lot of money for a block with no caps.
-
Not sure if I've asked this before, but would you be interested in VINs from Kars I've found in wrecking yards?
-
The caps are tentatively sold. I haven't asked the buyer for payment yet. I wanted to wait for the holidays to pass and for some of the Covid-related problems to ease up. I'll let you know if the sale doesn't go through.

Sorry, the balancer sold a while back.

Chuck: I'm in Cerritos, CA. (90703)
Dan: I really didn't think it would've been from a Cobra, but the date would work for a period-correct replacement.

I still have this block for sale. It's a late 63 casting for a 64 model year vehicle. Probably a Fairlane, could've been a Cobra. It's been verified by Bob Mannel. There's no VIN on it. Blocks this early didn't get VINs on them. It's .030 over on the cylinders. Might be able to stay at .030 over. Here's what's included.
"C4" HiPo 289 block with correct main caps.
NON HiPo 289 crank
NON HiPo 289 rods with .030 over pistons.
Anything not listed above is not included. No cam, no lifters, no oil pump, no timing parts, no front cover, no balancer.
Price is $1100 plus shipping for all, OR if someone just wants the main caps, I'll sell them for $1100 and I'll cover the shipping. I'd hate to scrap the block, but if nobody wants it...
Bottom view of all five HiPo main caps.

Full Disclosure: Block has these straps added to all freeze plugs. A racing thing people used to do. Probably not a problem. Take them off or leave them.

That's clearly an 8" rear under there.

And what's this abomination of an inspection cover on the trans?

Thanks for the reply. I'm just trying to ID it because a member here wants to buy it and I don't want to send him something that isn't what he wants. Another thing that throws me off a bit is that it has orange paint on it behind the distributor gear like the HiPo cams I've seen on the web. Yeah, I know the marking is actually an upside down "A" but since we can't type inverted letters, I just showed it as "VE." Thanks again for the help.

I pulled this cam from the HiPo motor I'm parting out. I can't seem to ID it. From what I can find, a stock HiPo solid lifter cam should be marked with a "VE." The stock 260 hydraulic lifter cam is marked with "UA." This cam is marked "XUA." My guess would be it's not a HiPo cam, but the motor DID have solid lifters.
