No, your image simply shows the 2 reinforcements for the rear hold-down plates.
The later GT style reinforcements are closer to the hole.

The wood grain wheel was only standard equipment when the interior decor group was ordered. It was also available as a separate option. But to answer your question, the wood grain wheel was not part of the GT.
The only factory dress-up kit came on a hi-po for 65-66. Anything else would be dealer installed.
The Arvinode system and the transverse system would not have had the rear frame rail reinforcements.
I don't think the 4th edition has a picture of the button top '65 pump. The transition to these happened sometime early in the production year.
Only 2 kind of button tops as far as I know.. the 3939S and 4201S
Locking nuts, just like regular ol' A or C codes. The brass nuts are a very common restoration mistake.
Is his '66 Shelby a December or January built car? If so, the date code could break down to day of the year and then 5 for '65.
How much you want to bet the seller thinks the car is done to concours level? With all those jazzy paint marks and other detailing, someone was attempting to do something right.
The only difference between that car and a concours trailered car is a good weekend with some friends and an MCA rulebook.
The plate was in place when the motor was painted. Therefore, it will have paint showing in areas close to the motor. The area where the starter attaches usually was not heavily covered in paint, to ensure a good ground to the block.
All 4 speed 289 bellhousings were the same, hi-po was not unique.
Isn't that Twilight Turquoise?
Interesting detailing.
That is awesome, thank you for the info!
Are they ok with taking individual orders? I assume they use a new center band, if so, is it properly gold dichromate plated?
How much do they charge for the service?
The inspection plate should be semi-gloss black.
The accelerator bell-crank on 65-66 and later was zinc phosphate.
Are you sure you are not confusing the frame rail plates used in the area for the hold-down plates with the later GT hanger frame rail plates?
Ford drawings show a "after 3/22/65" date for the GT style exhaust. When I say GT, I mean having the rear frame rail reinforcements.
Mid-'66 would be more like January/February '66.
Quote from KlizThanks!
What were factory dashpad colors? All I've seen are black, blue, red and burgundy. Is that it? I assume the burgundy would be the pad to go with an Emberglo interior?
What's a good source for NOS parts?
Aqua, palomino, dark green. Maybe 1 or 2 others. Burgandy goes with emberglow interior.
Keep an eye on ebay for NOS dashpads.
Quote from Kliz1. Were all 1966 Mustang interior and exterior colors (see Ditzler Index No. 10) offered on K-Code cars?
2. Were Factory Dashpads offered in all interior colors?
3. Where's the best source for dashpads?
1-Yes, K code has no bearing on interior options
2-Dashpads were not optional
3-NOS is the best
Quote from round2KOne other note on the lack of frame rail plates: you will also be missing the two bolt holes for the GT style hangers in the frame rail, which further explains the lack of rail plates. You can put your pinky in the opening, but you won't find the reinforcement there.
Yes, you are exactly right. The introduction of the rear "GT" hangers did not appear until probably around early April '65. The Arvin system, that was used before the common GT system, utilized rear hangers further up towards the front of the car on the rear frame rails. A large 'C' clamp was used to secure the system to the hanger. The clamp is large enough to go around the resonator.
