Interesting topic. I always assumed that the shock tower washers were added during the Shelby conversion.

You can get a used master series double bank Snap-on box for around $2000-2500 or get a used triple bank version for around $3k. Even if you get one that is 1-3 years old, it should still be in excellent condition. Check on ebay. The triple bank is $8-9k new.
I have a triple bank KRL1003 Snap-on box and have been very happy with it. Even the roller bearing Crafstman boxes just don't have that "feel" when you pull the drawers out like the Snap-on does.

If the 10k original mile claim is true, it doesn't really matter much with as much restoration work that has been done.
Nice little car.

I have a friend that owns an auto upholstery shop and said he could special order the mass back if I needed to. You might try your local upholstery shop for this.
-
So basically we need to ask for the Mass Back version if we want a good fitting carpet? I had heard about a higher quality carpet that was available but had to be special-ordered.

The low profile ones were pretty much all the same with the main difference being in a couple variations of the segment markings on the faces.
-
Dealer-installed low profile rally-pacs were usually black.
The '65 GT convertible I restored last year had medium blue interior and a medium blue rally-pac. I know it was original because it was dated right and the crinkle paint was blue all the way through.
-
Engine option has no bearing on rally-pac color. If you have a '66 with parchment interior, your rally-pac should be parchment.
-
The '66 rally-pacs came in at least black, white, red or blue.

You'd think they would give a little more info!?

Since this is a national event, most likely the cars will be parked in the order they arrive. You'll need to check with the local club for the potential of having an area for just K codes. I kinda doubt it will happen though, logistics make it a little tough to pull off, especially if space is already limited. Doesn't hurt to ask though.

Semi-gloss, with a little to the glossier side.
-
Only the NJ Metuchen plant used buck tags consistently from mid-late '65 and up. Don't believe I have ever seen a 65/66 Dearborn or San Jose car with bucktags.
-
Only Shelby's had the 140mph speedo.
-
From what I understand, you can't order any parts using the old part number system.
-
It's the engine ID decal like you see on coils.
-
what are the date codes on the fomoco distributors?
-
Is that an exhaust clamp around the LH shock?!

There is no such thing as a "GT wheel". The simulated wood grain wheel was either part of the deluxe interior or available as a separate option.
