Painted Le Mans stripes. '65 had painted rocker stripes with letter/number decals and '66-up had stick on rocker stripes.

Local guy by me does ceramic coating, very nice!

This is generally considered a '65 vs. '66 thing. '65 usually had screw on clips, '66 had studs.
-
Yep... sorry about that, definitely 4 screws on the boot!

-
The shifter is held to the shift gate with 2 bolts at the base of the shifter. You don't need to remove the boot to get the bolts off, but you will need to remove the boot from the floor, which is attached with 2 phillips head bolts. Carpet usually needs to come up for this.
Never tried it, but you might possibly get the shifter bolts off from underneath the car by dropping the trans down a little after unbolting the rear mount. This would probably save a lot of time.

Well... the '67 hi-po version looks similar to that style.
-
So is that what you think the "SC" stands for?
Only seen them all black.
-
Probably had the lipped hood. Somewhat early '65 San Jose car.

The spring is similar to the parking brake return spring, but not as big. The spring attaches to the clutch fork and then to a hole in the chassis below the driver side motor mount.

"All original" has many different meanings to different folks!
I'd bet that with a little investigation work, it would become obvious that the panel was replaced.
-
Backup lights were std. equipment for all Mustangs in '66 and later.
-
Yes, it is also what came stock on '67 Shelbys.
Very rare find!

Coker has BF-Goodrich and U.S. Royal.
Whitewall width depends on year:
'65 - 7/8"
'66 - 5/8"

Most builders recommend NOT using the cork end gaskets(so long as you don't care about correctness), especially if your heads have been milled. A good even bead of silicone works well.
-
Unit number would put this car with a production date of sometime in early to mid Januaury '65.
-
Ok, I'll have a look. I seem to remember the earliest one I had being a 4J.
-
What date you lookin for?
