Assume you mean the oil pan? If so, yes, you can remove it w/out pulling the motor.

I was referring to the panels inside the interior, not the trunk. I think it may be a coincidence that the car in your picture also has an aqua interior.

Automatics and 3 speed transmissions use the different gears. I don't remember off-hand which get LH or RH.

For 65/66, the trap door on a fastback is always painted the same color as the surrounding panels in the rear interior. It is always painted interior color on both sides too.

That's interesting, Bob. The assembly date on my engine is also the same date as the scheduled build date, "B15", which also happens to be today's date!

If that's the case, your car most likely was not actually built on the 15th.

Kevin Marti's "By the Numbers" book has production broken down by DSO on 67-73. For DSO 89 in '67, there were a total of 2,703.

Don't have any pics of side-by-side, but Argent is a bright silver whereas charcoal is a medium gray. Quite drastic difference.
-
It was around the same time as the "65 1/2" models came out, which was in the March/April '65 time frame.
-
If it was me, it would simply come down to sentimental value attached to the car. If it means that much to you, then the price difference should not be an issue. Otherwise, look for a car that may be priced more reasonable.

The gas sender wire is molded into the grommet. Not really a separate item. Would come with a new wiring harness if you bought one.

The grommet at the trunk for the sending wire is not the same as the shock tower. It looks like the grommet in the wiring for the front parking lights... where they go into the bottom of the headlight area on the fenders.
-
The fuel line attaching clips at the shock tower area use a bolt to attach them to the chassis. Those slip-on clips are generally only used for electrical.

Couple other folks have expressed interest, so just let me know. Best way to contact is through e-mail, just reply to the one I sent with the pics link.

Any stick-on stripes on a non-GT would have been either dealer-installed or done by a previous owner.

Charles,Wasn't there a service bulletin out in late 64 or early 65 to add the braces to cars from Ford for vibration problems?

Yes, there was a TSB on it.

I'm just basing my observation on a few low mileage cars. Keep in mind that even if the lock tabs were natural when installed, they would have gotten paint over spray on them when the engine was painted. So, this would most likely have prevented any flash rust. I would accept natural or black dipped on a concours car, but for concours, they ought to have some engine block over spray.
The examples I have seen that were black include one built close in production to your car at Dearborn. If it was my car, I would probably dip them in black paint, install them and then apply black over spray, which would cover the bolts, washers and also make it's way onto the manifolds.

There have been discussions as to why the bottom of the front is different from the belly of the car. It mainly has to do with the belly portion being sprayed with fixtures and the front being done by hand.
