Believe you just have to reverse how the wire passes through the loop on the back of the ammeter.

I have a hi-po one rebuilt and ready to go, sending you a PM.

The last pic would be "H T", which we usually see ink-stamped, but would not be anything unusual to see it written on.

It's a pretty obscure part, but has a limited audience. Probably more correct for an early '66 Shelby
-
It's dated in the '66 model year, which would make it correct for a Hertz Shelby with an automagic.

I believe this system would have been intended for a non-GT hi-po, with a production date after end of March '65. Or, as mentioned, could have been a replacement system for an Arvinode system.

Well, my fastback is torn down a good ways, thinking of going ahead and getting it re-painted. I'll probably just ride along with a friend.

Hope to see you and it in Birmingham !!

I'll be there, but seriously doubt the car will be.

Just got the '65 K convertible back from the painter on Saturday. It needs a few more little things touched up, but overall the car looks awesome. This is a Feb '65 San Jose K convertible, non-GT, drum brake car. Have pretty much everything NOS or original to go back on it, should be able to get it to MCA T-bred level.

It's a common problem when reproduction exhaust manifolds are used. Best thing is to loosen the exhaust manifolds bolts and pull up on the manifolds to get clearance.

I talked to B. Perkins about this in the past. The 'SX' wires became the hi-po standard for restorations a long time ago, not sure how it got started, probably from the MPC like Fred suggests. But, also as Fred suggests, there just aren't many good unrestored K code examples to use as a reference.
It would be an interesting topic to do some research on.

I probably have an original copy of the TSB. Just needs to be a notation made in the rules.

The case would have been a dark gray appearance. I usually phosphate the case and tail shaft.
Did you by chance clean the case before having it rebuilt? There most likely would have been original paint markings/stamps on it.

Let's keep in mind that "after the week of July 9, 1965" would leave a very small window open. We're talking a very low number of very late '65 cars. Regardless, I agree that the doc would be enough to persuade a comment in the rulebook.

-Similar radiators, if not identical
-No buck tags on 65-66 Dearborn
-Yes, VIN stamped engine and trans on Dearborn cars. Possibly different orientations or stamping techniques used.

It's one of those things where it would help to have some type of Ford documentation that indicates when/why the change was done. Most MCA judges will be expecting an external condenser on a '65 if you have a radio.

Yes, there were even white ones with 'Motorcraft' logos instead of FoMoCo. Once in a while you'll see one on ebay and the seller seems to intentionally angle the camera shot so 'Motorcraft' doesn't show.
The base of the gold one is totally wrong though.

I would never deduct points at a national show for an original data plate with blems.
