It's not a big deal fellas. I've been helping folks with questions for more than 15 years online. Occasionally run into difficult ones, but it all works out in the end.
Thanks

Quote from RPMSomewhere I read if it didn't have anything to do with you or you had nothing for sale DON'T COMMENT.Goes for all the people who feel like they need another post added to their profile.I'm glad those of you who have deep pockets don't mind getting took but when I start a thread and someone offers to sell something for what you paid for it which was way out of line you both should keep your comments to yourself!
I was offering advice based on past experience, which is what a public forum is for. I paid what I thought was fair market value for the clutch pedal pad, I did not "get took." If you're worried about price, I would suggest you buy a reproduction and let the people that can appreciate a rare part use the few NOS pads that are left.
The NOS brake pedal pads without the indent are a dime a dozen. The clutch pad without the indent is extremely rare.
Like I said, didn't appreciate the comment. Totally uncalled for and disrespectful of a longtime contributor to this forum.
Offer some input on your search and I get insulted... nice.
Quote from rallymanCan someone please tell me what style radiator hose clamps were used on San Jose k code built 10/31/64? Also would this car have had an Arvinode exhaust? NPD catalogue says some San Jose k's may not have had it until near the end of the year.
Thanks Andrew (NZ)
Mainly seen tower clamps used at that time period. Your gas filler neck would have had the typical band clamps. The crimp ones are generally accepted as a 64.5 item.
Va Mustang or NPD should carry it. Just be sure to request the one made by Alloy Metal Co. Don't buy the Mr. Mustang version for a concours car.
Quote from BramickWonderful info: Here's photos from my Jan 65 K car: I'll post some more pics from both the passenger and driver sides to verify the rear frame rail holes. It looks as though this car was probably originally an Arvinode car.
If it was a Jan '65 K car, it most definitely had an Arvinode system.
Couple more updates.... http://65kresto.blogspot.com/
That speedometer is pretty cool. Don't think I've ever seen a kph speedometer with a trip!
The carb was a core that pony carbs had on-hand. It is not a converted carb, it's the real deal. Have the original receipt from a year or so ago. I can get pictures, but it is a typical carb restored by pony carbs. It has not been run on a motor since bought.
I'd also like to know how much the dynamat weighs.
One thing I know about Dynamat is that it's very expensive. I'd be interested in hearing from others that have used it or similar products. I was thinking of adding some to my fastback when it goes back together.
Could be a number of things, such as: front/rear engine mounts, driveshaft imbalance, engine imbalance, etc...
Friendly FYI... if the pink is applied to the ends, it was usually sprayed, not swiped. I have never seen this on factory control arms though, only on service replacements. Also, the whole end of the control arm was dipped, with the sleeve and caps installed.
Va Mustang has a reproduction of this piece. From what I can tell, it is very nice, not sure that one could tell the difference between it and a repro once installed. In the past 5 years, I have only seen a couple of NOS Ford ones for sale. I had to pay about $250 for the one on the K convertible!
Are you sure it's a 'J' and not a 'D'? The stamps I'm seeing are faint and sometimes incomplete.
Sound deadener (sealant) on the firewall gets applied after everything has been installed in/through the firewall. It was done before the engine/trans were put in. So, to answer you question, yes it has not been applied yet, but will be done later.
Virginia Mustang recently put in their blog that they have reproductions of the non-adjustable '65 version.
I have a friend that has a few NOS/Used K parts that he would like to sell. Send me a message and I'll put you in touch with him. Parts are located in central NC.
