Yes, you'll know pretty quick! You could always dab some paint remover on the stripes, but will have to be careful not to get it on anything else.
The stripes are typical of the Metuchen assembly plant.
With three levels of driveshafts listed what could he do to them to get more money like he has listed?
Not sure what your question is there? The first level is repro, second is concours and third is t-bred. Jack gives a good description of what is done for each level.
The down draft tube systems used in the Fall of '64 were typically the style with the tube attaching to the rocker cover where the PCV valve normally would be. I don't recall there being any differences with the intake manifolds when this configuration was in place.
Also, for whatever it's worth, I used to own a Dearborn C code convertible that had an Oct 31, 1964 scheduled build date. It had a NY DSO (13) and was equipped with a down draft tube that attached to the rocker cover.
The date on the warranty plate is simply a projected build date. It can be off up to weeks before or after.
Looking for clear door glass for a '65 convertible. Acceptable dates are:
4L, 4M or 5A
Prefer really nice pieces.

From the picture, they look exactly the same as the Coker tires. Remember what jwc66k mentioned about the edge of the tire...
I don't mind white walls, but in my opinion, they just don't look right on a K code!

Have a few leads but nothing definite. I'd hate to have to install white walls on the K convertible.
Here's some pics of an original. Incidentally, the current repro is not quite right when compared to what came on these cars (imagine that.) The original redlines are "SUPER SAFETY 800XP"
Basic yellow and green Krylon cans would probably be fine. Lacquer thinner should wipe off what you have on there now.

Follow up question for these hipo emblems. Did the NOS ones (some/all) not come with the part number stamping? If some or all NOS came without the part number, how do you distinguish fomoco from repro? Thanks, Alex
Yes, there were later issue Ford service replacements that had different or no markings on the back. The Ford ones are different from the repro as the original are anodized aluminum. Repro are chromed die-cast, like the V8 emblems. Visually, the Ford emblems are more dull than the chrome/mirror finish of the repro.
The K convertible I'm restoring has the same interior too!
I wouldn't get your hopes up with the mass-backed carpet. I ordered a set for a '68 convertible directly from ACC a couple years ago. Paid close to $300 with shipping. Could see right through the carpet to the backing. Extremely disappointed.
I have heard good things about the new "Raylon" material, but have not had an opportunity to install a set.

They are OEM Ford parts.
They should be body color. A recent article in Mustang Monthly mistakenly posted that they should not be painted.
Rick's Dearborn car would most likely have had spray dots. The May '65 GT convertible I restored had them and have references of cars going back to August '64 from Dearborn with spray dots.
