Hi all.
Does anyone have a picture of how the battery hold down bracket works? I'm not sure how it works, I'm guessing that the battery must have a groove in it for this bracket to work?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark.
That's a great story. I must say, I am a believer in fate.
I just took delivery of my K which I brought from the States late in August. I looked at the car over a year ago but the seller withdrew the car from sale and my marriage fell apart around the same time. I have since remarried to a wonderful woman who I know is the right one. I was going through the forums again looking for a K when I saw an ad. It just so happened it was the same car and owner and this time the sale went ahead, and now the K sits proudly in my garage.
To me, this car was destined to be mine, I just had some issues to deal with at the time. Once that was all sorted out, the car was once again made available to me. It's totally amazing how some things just happen to work out like that.

Hey everybody ![]()
Finally after waiting 3 months + the K code I bought in late August has arrived and I took delivery of it yesterday (7th of December). Wow, what a sight to behold as the car was slowly removed from the container before my very eyes. It's a long held dream come true and as I regularly go into the garage to look at it. It all seems like a dream and that it isn't real but is at the same time. I guess it hasn't sunk in yet. Anyway before I get all emotional about it, it's a 65 K (of course) factory GT with build sheet and full history, Rangoon red with black pony interior. It is totally magic.

It might just be me, associating it that way. Or maybe a Konspiracy by the auto parts shops. At least the Wiggles (to my Knowledge) haven't Kustomized one yet. That'd be way too Kolorful.![]()
(just noticed it still has California plates, too.)Hate to tell you then that that red wiggle mobile used to be a Mustang
Man, you guys blame us for eveything ![]()

Quote from b9folkWhat is it with Aussie cars and having baby-blue parts under the hood? The rest of the car may look nice, but then they end up with baby-blue wires, coil or distributor cap, and sometimes engine paint, usually combined with the '66 style Cobra valve covers. Eeeeyuck!
We're well adjusted men down here. The baby blue shows off our feminine side. No actually your right, it looks sickly. Damn I was going so well too. Why is it us, I've noticed some bad things being done to K's over there and you have more than us. It may have been imported that way as well!!

Got mine down here in oz. Thanks Marv. I look forward to having a read tonight.

I think this car has been on the market for around the last 2 years. I have been looking for around that time and remember seeing it near the start of my search on http://www.cars-on-line.com/22758.html. I saw it, read it then dismissed it. I ended up buying David Mc's car at 4K cheaper and judging by the pics, this one doesn't come within a bull's roar of my baby. There's a very good reason it's still on the market. For the quality it's way overpriced. LuvKcode's got it spot on imho.
Check out the ad at the above link. Price was reduced to $36K or $33K without the Shelby bits. What kind of paint job does that get you?

G'day Tony.
Welcome along. You've definitely found the best site. I bought a 65 GT K Fastback through this site about a month ago. At the moment it's sitting in California waiting to get on a ship. You will get the best info on any car you're looking for here and also find out which ones to stay away from as the members here have an incredible knowledge depth. A couple of good sites to look at are Hemmings Classifieds and Collector Car Trader Online. Volo Auto Museum gets some nice ones but you will be paying a premium. The best thing to do is if you find one on a site, post it here and get the feedback from the members. Some people are very kind and actually go see the car if they are close to it. The best advice I can give is make sure you get the car inspected by an expert before you buy it and also be patient, it took me 2 years of really looking before I found exactly what I wanted.
Good luck mate.
King regards,
René
Quote from SPECIAL EDHi all,
You may remember I came to this site a few weeks ago stating I had a 66 A code convertible with a 67 hipo carb. Wanted to know if anyone was interested in the carb. Well, lots has happened since then. Sold the convertible with the hipo carb. I then unexpectedly won the bid for a 65 K-CODE GT FASTBACK on e-bay. I was not expecting to win thinking my top offer was too low. I think I got a good deal but I will let you pros be the judge of that. This is my first K-code and I am thrilled! Some of you may have watched this auction that ended on Monday, 8/28. Ebay item # is 300019016183. Please check it out. Look forward to your feedback. Thanks, Ed
Congrats on the purchase. The car looks nice and clean. I wish you all the joy of owning your K. I'm sure you'll get yours before I do.

If the frames fit the Aussie number plates I like number 1 and number 2 design.

Quote from 65HiPoLooks like a nice car....my favorite color. However, according to the VIN this car was built in early Oct. of '64.....before the GT or Pony interior was offered. Still, 30K sounds pretty good.
Here's the question I asked the seller on Ebay:
Is the data plate number (63B 3 F6 18Q 72E 5) correct? The vin number 5R09K143918 suggests this car was built in March 18, 1965 but the unit number 143918 falls between 2 known 03K cars which were built in October 3, 1964. Can you please clear this up before I bid. Also, is this car a genuine GT? The dates would suggest it's not.
Here's the reply I got:
im pretty sure this one was built in the later part of 64 so october sounds right. This is a true gt, right down to the holes for the fog lights. everything matches up.
Something just doesn't sit right with this car, it appears the seller has no clue about this car.

René

??? Has the vin on this car changed?? According to the ad, the build date is 18Q which is March 18, 1965 (which is still pre-GT). Interestingly enough, in the 3rd edition of the "K Bible" it sits between 2 03K unit numbers which is October 3, 1964 as stated. So has the seller put down the wrong Date code? I'm confused as to how someone could put in wrong numbers in an ad.
