    Hiya Scott.

    I'm not sure if this is any help to you but, the 65 K Code had a different motor mount than all other V8 mustangs of 1965. I recently had to get new rubbers in my motor mounts, and the guy who sold me my motor mounts sold me the other 1965 mounts which is totally different. In the 1966 models this was changed, so all V8 motors, A, C or K had the same motor mounts. Just comparing the different types of motor mounts, the 1965 K is a lot thicker, so I gather this would make the motor sit higher. If there was no significant changes to the transmission or drive shafts from 65 to 66, then dropping the engine a little may not make any difference to the car.

    Merry Christmas to all in the HiPo community. Hope your Christmas is full of love and peace. My Christmas present is in the garage :D

    Please spare a thought for those that are spending their Christmas away from their families fighting for peace. It doesn't matter what your thoughts are on what is happening in Iraq or anywhere else in the world. All these soldiers are just doing their jobs, I'm sure they'd rather be home with their families as well. God watch over them all and bring them home safely to heir loved ones.

    Stay safe.

    Car looks fantastic. Opinions on price and the car (wrong colour interior) would be a great help to a friend who is very interested. IMHO, I think the car is over priced, but I really have no clue what the market is in the US at the moment.

    Thanks.

    Hi all.

    Before I post a question and get banned from the site, I would like to know what the protocol is.

    There's a car for sale on the forum from a member. A friend of mine is interested in it and I'd like to get fellow member's ideas on the price of the car and the car itself by posting pics of the car from a website, however, I don't want get the owner angry and possibly embarrass him/her either.

    How do I go about this?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    René

    Hi Rohan.

    That worked a treat, thanks for the idea.

    To all.

    If you find a VIN on the transmission, doesn't it stand to reason that the engine block should also have a VIN on it? I find it hard to believe that they would stamp one, but not the other.

    My 2 cents worth.

    Had a set of Styled Steel wheels on my 65 for around 6 years that made by a company called Pro Products - not sure if they are still in business but the wheels were nice, had very good chrome/paint and they balanced well. There were some wheels oon the market back when I bought mine, that had quality issues and were very hard to balance correctly

    Hi Jack.

    Would it be possible to PM me all the wheels you looked at?

    Thanks.

    Tony Branda has a list price of $649.95 but a holiday sale price of $499.95 which includes 4 center caps and 20 lug nuts. The ad states exact repros, original style, show quality, correct paint. These are 14 x 5 size for 65 or 66 wheels. 1966 includes the trim rings. The 14 x 6 or 14 x 7 cost another $100.

    Great price!! Do you know the quality of the wheels?

    Styled steel wheels have been obsolete from Ford for a very long time.

    NOS ones usually sell for about what you mentioned, maybe $200-300 each, not counting centercaps or lugnuts.

    Thanks for the info. I got a price for 4 Scott Drakes including centre caps and lugnuts for $998.40 USD (converted fom $1280 AUD including shipping) from East Coast Mustang Parts in Melbourne Australia.

    Seems like a damn good price.

    A Politically Correct Santa?

    'Twas the night before Christmas and Santa's a wreck...

    How to live in a world that's politically correct?

    His workers no longer would answer to "Elves",

    "Vertically Challenged" they were calling themselves.

    And work conditions at the North Pole,

    Were alleged by the union to stifle the soul.

    Four reindeer had vanished, without much propriety,

    Released to the wilds by the Humane Society.

    And Equal Employment had made it quite clear,

    That Santa had better not use just reindeer.

    So Dancer and Donner, Comet and Cupid,

    Were replaced with 4 pigs, and you know that looked stupid!

    The runners had been removed from his sleigh;

    The ruts were termed dangerous by the E.P.A.

    And people had started to call for the cops,

    When they heard sled noises on their roof-tops.

    Second-hand smoke from his pipe...had his workers quite frightened.

    His fur trimmed red suit was called "Unenlightened."

    And to show you the strangeness of life's ebbs and flows,

    Rudolf was suing for unauthorized use of his nose,

    And had gone on Geraldo, in front of the nation,

    Demanding millions in over-due compensation.

    So, half of the reindeer were gone; and his wife,

    Who suddenly said she'd enough of this life,

    Joined a self-help group, packed, and left in a whiz,

    Demanding from now on her title was Ms.

    And as for the gifts, why, he'd ne'er had a notion,

    That making a choice could cause so much commotion.

    Nothing of leather, nothing of fur,

    Which meant nothing for him. And nothing for her.

    Nothing that might be construed to pollute.

    Nothing to aim. Nothing to shoot.

    Nothing that clamoured or made lots of noise.

    Nothing for just girls. Or just for the boys.

    Nothing that claimed to be gender specific.

    Nothing that's warlike or non-pacific.

    No candy or sweets...they were bad for the tooth.

    Nothing that seemed to embellish a truth.

    And fairy tales, while not yet forbidden,

    Were like Ken and Barbie, better off hidden.

    For they raised the hackles of those psychological,

    Who claimed the only good gift was one ecological.

    No baseball, no football...someone could get hurt;

    Besides, playing sports exposed kids to dirt.

    Dolls were said to be sexist, and should be passe;

    And Nintendo would rot your entire brain away.

    So Santa just stood there, dishevelled, perplexed;

    He just could not figure out what to do next.

    He tried to be merry, tried to be gay,

    But you've got to be careful with that word today.

    His sack was quite empty, limp to the ground;

    Nothing fully acceptable was to be found.

    Something special was needed, a gift that he might,

    Give to all without angering the left or the right.

    A gift that would satisfy, with no indecision,

    Each group of people, every religion;

    Every ethnicity, every hue,

    Everyone, everywhere...even you.

    So here is that gift, it's price beyond worth...

    "May you and your loved ones enjoy peace on Earth."

    Have a Merry Kristmas and a safe Happy New Year

    René

    Hi all.

    I'm looking to get a set of 14x6 Steel Styled wheels for my 65 K. I can get the usual SD wheels, but was wondering if there are other brands around as well? I have been told that they are still available from the ford factory, is this true? The price I was quoted was around $1300 USD including the caps which seems quite steep.

    What have those that bought them got? What was the price and quality like? Where did you get them from?

    Of course I'd much rather have an original set of 14x5's but I'm guessing that may well be asking for too much.

    Thanks,

    RP

    Hi all.

    My K has nothing in the truck except the spare and the hook/hold down for the spare.

    Can someone enlighten me what the jack looks like and if the car came with any other tools as I've seen trunk bags for sale.

    Thank you.

    Hi all.

    I have noticed with all this VIN on the block talk that no one has mentioned cars from the Metuchen plant. I assume that this plant would also have stamped K blocks. I have been told by an expert (so called maybe) that cars from the Metuchen plant didn't have the blocks stamped with the VIN, surely this can't be right? I've had a look on the block just above the oil pan/below the alternator on the passenger side off the car and haven't found anything. There doesn't seem to be any gunk on the block. I'm praying that the number is under the paint.

    Here in OZ the engine has to have a number for the car to be able to be registered. If that's the case and I don't find the VIN, I'm in series trouble.

    Thoughts please.
