    Hi all.

I don't get how you are surprised it didn't go higher. To me there's not enough detail for me to safely bid on the car. I have no idea how original it is. Sure it looks alright but I'd need more info, and never judge a car on pics alone. The owner has left his number on the ebay ad, maybe people did ring him for more info but didn't get the "right" answers in relation to originality /history etc.

I've seen this car before somewhere. It was either on Hemmings or Collector Car Trader Online. I recognise the hood pins and some other details.

    Just my two cents worth.

    Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone has come across a paxton supercharged K. Can you still get the vintage paxtons? Any idea what the price of one would be and what mods you would have to do to the K? Have always wondered what it would be like to supercharge a K. Probably wouldn't do it to mine, no telling what it would do to the value. Unless.... any ideas??

    Thanks guys & gals.

    Hi Gene.

Thanks for the pics. Sorry for the confusion. Yes my interior is the pony type.

I learned something new!! I thought low profile meant the depth of the clock and tach. It just dawned on me the it meant there was no joining piece as it were between the tach and the clock.

    Man do I feel stupid.

Anyway, thanks for all your help. Now I'll have to track down some NOS internals for my Rally-Pac.

The body of the unit is correct for the Kar. The clock mechanism is out of a high profile unit. The chrome second hand is the clue on this.

    Hi all.

I gather my Rally Pac body is high profile, so does that mean my clock is correct?

Does anyone have a clear photo they can post here or email me of what the tach mechanism should look like?

    Thanks.

    Hi all.

Someone flipped out over the size of my Rally-Pac. Since I'm a newbie it didn't strike me as odd. I have the original paperwork for the car which shows it was ordered with a Rally-Pac. My question is, is this standard or is it possibly a carry over part from an earlier K model? My car is an April 65 model.

Here's the link to the pics:

Thanks for any comments in advance.

If all that is wanted is a 65/66 Fastback, why not put all the parts into a A, C or even T code shell. All the parts would still be there and no one would know the difference. Seems odd to add in the K VIN. What other purpose would this serve?

Personally if I came across the car and was told it had the VIN put on the new body, I wouldn't contemplate buying the car, no matter how stunning it looked. At the end of the day this car at some stage would be abused by someone and someone else would feel like thay've been screwed.

If this is considered fraud does one consider it the same thing to stamp your VIN in your engine block? Page 6 of the 289 HIPO book 2nd edition calls this a restoration not a forgery.

    Thoughts/

I believe if you read the statement made in the HIPO book 4th edition the stamping of the VIN on the block was in fact restamping a faded VIN. That's what was meant by restoration. To stamp your engine block with a VIN if it wasn't there is fraud. I wouuld be very suprised if Tony was advocating this.

    Hi all.

Being new to the K family, I have a question regarding the ease of getting the reverse gear in the Kar. Sometimes (not always) I have trouble getting the gear in. When I do have trouble, I have to let the car roll forward a little, or put the car in any gear then put it into reverse. I have the standard shifter where you have to pull the T bar up.

Am I experiencing normal 1965 technology, or is there a problem I should get checked out before any serious damage occurs?

    Thanks for any input.

    Hi Bob.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but can your book be ordered internationally? I'm in Australia and the online store only seems to sell in the US.

    Thanks.

BTW - my April 65 K has a HEH-T transmission with the the correct VIN on it.

    Under investigation?

My April the 4th, 1965 K has the HEH-T 4 speed transmission. It has the correct VIN stamped on it which matches the fender and data plate.

    Hope this is of use.

Hi Rene, Thought all high profile pacs had eye brows. Do you have a picture of yours? Thanks, Ed

    Hi Ed.

I haven't got a pic but I can get one and email it to you, as I don't know how to post pics on this site. PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.

Shouldn't the block be blue? Besides that, this car looks fantastic, I really dig the colours. Where do those mirrors come from, I've never seen that type on a K?

    Hello all,

I have a R.red 1965 GT K code fastback with black pony interior. Scheduled build date of 6/1/65. It has the eye brow style 8,000 rpm rally pac. Does not say "RALLY PAC" across the top. From what I understand this is a factory installed rally pac. If it says "RALLY PAC" across the top it is dealer installed. Regardless,I think this style is wrong for my car. I think the correct style for my K would be the low profile type with the center mounted indicator needle on the tach and the clock. Is it possible this K came with the existing rally pac? Thanks, Ed

    Hi Ed.

I too have a 65 GT K code with the same exterior colour and pony interior. I have the build sheet or window sticker (whatever it's called) which shows a factory fitted Rally Pac. Mine is a low profile and it doesn't say Rally Pac on it and doesn't have the eye brow either. I don't know if it was ever replaced, but that's what mine has. I hope this helps.

    Hey Joe.

I would be staggered if you couldn't get 40K for this. Hell, if I had the spare money, I would jump at this without hesitation. This is one beautiful looking car and I love the colour combination. Hold firm on the price, if anything you should be able to get more. There are lots of K's that have had a higher asking price and I think yours looks heaps better than the one's I've come across. Original 70K motor, number on the block and trans, most of the hard to find bits. Anyone looking for a K would be mad to pass this one up.

Do you have the window sticker and original Bill of Sale with it?

    Good luck Joe.

So rene who did you buy your handle thru since the hole is in the right place?

    Hi Robert.

I was wrong,it did have the hole on the wrong side. It was a Scott Drake handle.

Did later Mustangs have the hole on the other side? I noticed when the old handle finally came off, there was a hole on both sides of the shaft.
