Does the HiPo have the same flywheel as the regular 289, or are they different? Thanks
Quote from 65HiPoAs far as I know the shoes are 10"x 1 3/4". NPD has the parts you need. Here's a link:
Thaks for that info
Can anyone confirm what size the rear brakes were on early 65 K code please, and also who may sell correct parts to build up same. Thanks
Thanks for that reply, sounds like I am on the right track now.
I read on Ebay forum that 289 blocks are identified to the particular model by the second letter in the casting code, ie C5AE-6015-E, the A represents the model. They say A is Galaxie, and that Mustang is Z. That means Mustang block should be C5ZE-6015-E??
Yet all I read in this forum (and almost everywhere else) indicates all 289 blocks are C5AE (if cast in 1964/5)
I am looking for an engine for my K code manufactured on 10/31/64. Can you knowlegable guys steer me in the right direction please. And if you have the right engine for sale I am in the market (also need a toploader HEH-T, HEH-S or maybe HEH-BX and a 9 inch rear)
Thanks
Andrew
Just purchased this fastback and the drivetrain has been replaced. If anyone has the original I would LOVE to get hold of it, motor, box and diff.
Otherwise I would consider same in the correct date range. Build date was 10/31/64
Thanks
Andrew
