It was five years ago today when Hank and I launched this site. In the five years hence we have grown the HiPo Registry from 697 K-Codes to 1,613 Ks! That's a 131% increase!! We have Ks registered in all of the 50 states and 21 Countries. That is due in a large part to your passing on the word about the site and Registry. I really appreciate your assistance. We have gone from 2 Members to 933! I think that through the site we have help educate the "public" about K-Codes and their place in Mustang Heritage. Remember the K-Code was the FIRST High-Performance Mustang. Again, I appreciate everyone's assistance in growing the Registry and I'm looking forward to the next five years.

Mike, this site is a site for anyone with an interest or passion for Mustangs. The Registry however is for K-Codes only. The Shelbys have their own Registry and the K-Codes have theirs. We do not register Shelbys. As a matter of fact, I sent Howard a list of some potential Shelby VINs for his review to make sure that they are not Shelbys. No offense, but Shelby has their own Registry and the K-Codes have their own.

I just spoke with my Vendor and he said that he had just received a call from one of his customer's and Ford is at it again. The License Plate did not have Ford, any of it's logos, only the word Mustang and they are going after him. So for the time being, let's just set tight and see if this will settle down a bit. It makes not sense at all that they are spending all this time and money on this when they should be putting all of their energys on keeping from going bankrupt! If things settle down, we should be able to move on it quickly.

Gary, the answer to your question is that Tony's book is correct and you have the right Pistons.

Thanks Merlyn, I got the contact info. I will check with him after I speak with the fellow who I have been dealing with- that will give me a benchmark to compare. And yes, I was going to put the website on the Emblem as well.

OOPS! My bad. Just didn't get the orientation right...

The Mega Package would make a lot of sense because the shipping for the Decal would be more than the Decal. I had style of Hats chosen and even artwork made up before I pulled the "plug". I'll try to dig out that artwork and post it. It was going to be a Black Hat (I know that black is hot, but it won't show those fingerprints as much) with a Black/White Checkboard on most of the Visor. We would have a Silver/Gold HiPo Emblem on the Front of the Hat, Silver/Gray "K-Code" on one side of the Hat, and Silver/Gray "HIPOMUSTANG.COM" on the back arched around the opening. Let me know what you think?

Charles, look a little closer at that bottom picture. It looks like it's a C5OE-A? It'a an original Ford pump.
-
That is actually an upside-down "B" and an "F". That is a C9OZ-6250-A, Hydralic Camshaft for a '69-71 351 Windsor.

Tony Gregory got rights from Ford in the process of doing The 289 High Performance Mustang book- the extent of rights is unknown. So as an agent for him, I should be able to use that right. Unfortunately, when Tony supplied me with the materials for the book, there was no letter from Ford Legal. He has since looked for it, but could not find it. I was in the process of looking into Hats since so many people have asked me about them. My Vendor said that he was not sure that I would want to pursue it as Ford has had this "clamp-down". So I decided to wait and see. At that time, I forgot that Tony had received some rights from Ford and that would probably cover me. What do you think? Should we pursue Hats and Stickers since we have received some rights through Tony?

I've been told by several sources that the 289 HiPo Camshaft is better in the Boss 302 than the stock Boss 302 Camshaft. I just recently sold a HiPo Cam to a fellow that is going to put it in his Boss 302. He said that is was pretty common knowledge over at the Boss 302 site that the HiPo Cam was better for the Boss 302 than the Boss Cam.

The "C8OE" Casting on the Block indicates a 1968 Casting. 1967 was the last year for the 289 HiPo. It is most likely a 302. I guess that there would be a slim chance that it was a 289 HiPo Service Block, but with a Date Code of "8F7", June 7, 1968, I very much doubt it.

The Carbs in the Buckeye Building were done by a guy in NY and he sells htem as Clone HiPo Carbs. He does not try to misrepresent them- at least last time I spoke with him. Hopefully, he still sells them as Clones. He was not there and I didn't get a chance to speak with him either.

Thanks, I'll have him contact them. But it looks like they are in the Catalytic Converter and Muffler Business, and not Exhaust Pipes or Resonators. Maybe he can talk them into start making those systems again....

The beauty of this website is that we can continue to learn about K-Codes and in some cases, may find discrepancies between what Ford said in it's documentation and what actually hit the streets. In these rare cases, we will have to very prudent to make sure that the anomalies are in fact anomalies from the factory and not individuals. On this thread, we will post anomalies that we are currently investigating and when they are resolved, the resolution as well.
- Did the early cars without Dual Exhaust not have the reinforcement plates in the rear frame rails?
Under investigation
- Did Ford use the HEH-T 4-speed Transmission beyond the published date of 10/01/64?
Under investigation?

I just found out that the Cam Grinder also has the Original Master for the 289 LeMans Camshaft, C7FE-6250-A. They are the same price as the HiPos, $225 + shipping. A word of caution, this is not a very good street Camshaft as it likes to operate in the High RPM Range and it's best with Higher Compression than stock.
Also, I've found a good source for Quality Solid Lifters and they are $100.00 per set.

If anyone out there has an Original Arvinode Exhaust System, please contact me at Marv@hipomustang.com Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Several Ford MPCs were used and as early as April '68- none of that trash in May '75. It is NOT a OBVIOUS ERROR! IT IS CORRECT! That is what Ford dictated in it's parts books. Now if some plants choose to use older parts until they were exhausted, then that would be an anomaly and if we had enough original, unmolested Kars to prove an anomoly, then we would state so as I stated to you before.
-
Charles, it's not a matter of proof reading. It's what Ford states in the MPCs. When we find enough ORIGINAL Ks (and everyone swears that their's is an original and unmolested) with an anomaly from the MPCs, we make a statement to that effect in the book. An example of this would be found on Page 72 of the Fourth Edition.

Hank is in the process of moving he site to a new Server. This make take a couple of days, but I see an improvement already. Please bear with us and the site should get back to opearating smoothly as it has before this fiasco. Thanks for your patience...
