Well another year has come and gone. But it's been a good year for the HPM site and the registry. We have over one-thousand registered members and the information exchange has been the best yet. We've had a influx of MCA Judges, Shelby Owners, and a lot of people who have been around these Kars for a long time and are very knowledgeable about them. The registry has grown another 160+ Kars and we are developing a paper trail of previous owners and interesting facts in the registry when a Kar changes hands. And for those members on the east coast, or west coast for that matter, now is the time to start seriously deciding if we are going to have a 289 HiPo Reunion at Carlisle, PA in June. On behalf of the HPM Staff (Marv, Hank, Gene) we would like to wish everyone and their families A Great Holiday Season and A Prosperous New Year.

I sent the current owner an Email telling him you would like to contact him. It's up to him to decide if he wants to talk with you. I think most of us would love to speak with the original owner of our kars. I wish I oould do more of getting the current owner of a kar in touch with the original or previous owners.

Yes, that is true that the Shelby Autos used the HiPo Auto Carb- they tried a handful with the 715 and found it didn't work. BTW, '67 Shelbys had Exhaust Manifolds.

There's a copy of a San Jose Build Sheet (worn from age) on page 171 of Tonys book, 4th Edition...
-
Rene, that book could be shipped to Australia in a Flat-Rate Envelope for $11.00 US. Some of these guys really make their money on these phony shipping charges.
-
Hey Dan, any chance of getting any of your Club's Original 289 Cobras for the HiPo Reunion we're planning for next June in Carlisle, PA? I'm not interested in any Clones. Possibly you can notify some other Cobra Clubs and let them know what we are trying to do. Thanks.

With a August '65 date, that would be for a '66 K-Code...
-
They certainly aren't cheap, but they don't sell junk either. And if you don't like it, return it. I guess that you have to pay for that.
-
I can provide you with the Camshaft, Lifters, Oil Pump, and I will have to check if I have any Timing Chains left. You can Email me at Marv@hipomustang.com.
-
I don't...
-
I encourage everyone that can attend to attend, and bring your K-Code. Ron is going out of his way to make this special for the K-Coders. If you don't go, you will probably regret it...
-
Come on Guys/Gals, we can get Phil more than 7 votes from this site, eh?
-
Power Brakes were not available on K-Codes. Both Manual and Disc Brakes (optional, standard if GT) were offered, but not Power Boosted.
-
Yes, Reproductions...
-
I believe that they were used on the optional Competition Suspension Package. Any one else out there have an opinion?

For all of you in the Southeast US, there is a great show coming up in Henderson, NC on October 19-21.There’s also a Nostalgia Drag Race nearby on the 18th. It is an open show to all makes. Last year, they had 1200 cars and ESPN2 was there to cover it! A friend of mine is organizing an all Ford High Performance Car corral. The cars must be original Ford Factory High Performance cars. Last year, they had a Cobra Jet Mustang Reunion in the corral and many of them are returning this year including Al Joniec’s Cobra Jet. If you are interested in the Ford Factory High Performance Corral, contact J.H. Hamm at HammJohnny@yahoo.com or (252)492-2903. I have provided a Link below to the website with all of the details. I hope some of you can make it, it's a great show!

Canada also sent some down to Holman-Moody for road racing in Europe. They had Lincoln Disk Brakes as well as a bunch of other "goodies". The officials in Europe didn't like it at all and tried to stop them, but could not. A member of this site has one of the H-M cars and is doing a restoration on it for Vintage Road Racing.
