Has anyone seen a HiPo fan spacer known to be original to a car that actually has the C3OE casting number? I've looked at a number of OE spacers from April 65 through 66 GT350s and none have had it.
Thanks,
Dave

Fred, I have a 4193S I wasn't planning on having rebuilt but if it will make a difference with the quota I'll send it to you, LMK. Thanks, Dave
Great discussion. Sounds like the makings for a mag test article...Webers vs. Paxton vs. Dynatekracing FI setup.
Based on his negative and neutral feedback comments from buyers I'd say he knows he misrepresents items and really doesn't care.
OE valves will be metal with a cad or zinc (not sure which) plating. Your car probably came with the hex base, hose connection valve like Ralph mentioned. As he also said they are very tough to find and expensive. You may get lucky and find a used one, the nice thing about this style valve is they can be disassembled, cleaned, and reused. The valve on the left in the pic below is NOS, the one one the right is a used one that's been restored. Both are stamped with a C5AE engineering number.
Ralph's other tip is a good one. The C4 stamped valve looks identical except for the treaded connection which would never be seen once the hose is on. These are easy to find NOS and cheap.

Quote from dunc289Would I have the same problem with a windsor [sp] head? They are not hipo, so no recessed spring seats. Would you recommend guides then? Just wondering.
Windsor heads do not have the cast guide slots so guide plates are required.
Also looks like this set is for that really rare block with two end caps.... ![]()
Bob, are you the one I spoke to about these at the Mustang Roundup this last weekend? If so, looks like you found the right place, welcome aboard! Dave.
There is a product called Tank Armor that was featured in a recent issue of Mustang Monthly: http://www.mustangmonthly.com/howto/26763/index.html
Thanks, if that's the case the non-star, non-powertip plugs might have a very narrow production window, possibly making them rarer than the star plugs. Weren't the star plugs produced into '67?
Quote from CharlesTurnerWere these the AUTOLITE logo like above or the regular "Powertip" BF32? The powertip are much more common.
Charles, any idea when the "Powertip" plugs went into production? I'm guessing the non-powertips like those in the auction may have had a narrow production window making them very desirable for the correct dates which could explain the high price.
I agree, as much as I enjoy looking at a well done restored car, it's a nice original that really gets my lifters clacking. I'm a little surprised the bidding on the survivor 65 GT350 on ebay this week, 5S486, stalled at $180K and didn't make reserve, looked like a great car. Or...was that the one you bought?

If it's the car I'm thinking of I've seen it at the Roundup, beautiful!
I recently had an original SJ 4-speed radiator recored with a high-perf 2-row core called MX-2. It's slightly thicker than an OE 2-row but not as thick as a 3-row so you can use your original fan shroud brackets. It supposedly has a cooling capacity between a 3-row and 4-row.
Quote from pony65kMine was less than easy, I had to cut it off with a Dremel. Getting it on was easier after I drilled a hole in the handle on the correct side
Punching the pin in is the easy way but often things get messed up and that doesn't work, then it's cutting time.
Rene brings up a good point, some of the repop handles have the hole for the pin drilled on the wrong side. NOS may not be any better, I have three NOS handles and none have a hole, you must drill your own.
Mine is the same, except no "E" above the FULL.
I had my Tri-Y's jet-hot coated about 8 years ago and they still look great.
Ray, sent you a PM and email. Dave
