It probably has a mere "Hi-PO" decal on the air cleaner. Just like the other Hi-Po car I inquired about on Craigs List locally here. Why would somebody advertise it falsly only to waste everybody's time, including the seller!?!?

Any advice for repairing the fold down seat chrome trim? Mine is pitted, including the piano hinges. I'm guessing the reproduction kits don't fit perfectly and are probably very thin. Can I have all these pieces rechromed? Can anybody make a recommendation on a plater?
Thanks!

Anybody care to comment on this. I found a nice and concise little resource: http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/m…_frequency.html
I've always changed once a year in the spring and don't start the car at all in winter storage. I guess I should change it in both fall and spring?

Congratulations. I know it must feel good!

Wow- thanks for all the help. I'm even more confused now. Seems like it could be many problems. Funny how I went from one side of the spectrum to the other in a short time - high idle to not enough gas at stops.

I have a new problem that just started to develop the last 2 times I've driven my car. I had the whole thing tuned and adjusted a short time ago and all was running great! Then, I noticed my car was idleing too high at stops. A little blip of the throttle, and it all was better. This kept happening, so I adjusted the tension of the throttle return spring. That seemed to do the trick. And all was fine for a few weeks and about 150 miles or so.
Now, the car has difficulty starting when warm (I have to give it a bit of manual choke sometimes), and wants to die when I come to a stop. When the clutch goes in at a stop, I have to feather it with gas to keep it running sometimes.
Any ideas? Keep in mind, I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination.

Thanks for the compliments. Gary, I can't afford one, either. This car is a Replica!

Here's one I took last night after the sun went down

I have the correct Shelby original carb (great shape!) from a 4-speed GT-350. I can post some pics if anybody is interested. It is likely a service replacement (no tag), but it is still the correct carb, unlike the current reproductions. I may be interested in selling or trading for a carb for my '66 4-speed K code (non Shelby).

Does anybody have any experience understanding the difference between one of the Pony Carb "clones" and the real deal? As far as functionality, are they identical? What are the appearance differences? I'm considering purchasing one and don't want to regret it. My car will never be a concours show car, but I do want things to be as correct as possible without spending a fortune. It's a driver. Currently has a Holley, which is easily detected as incorrect.
Thanks,
Troy

I have the whole complete deal - currently installed in a clone. I have 2 people that want my retractors and belts badly, but I don't know what to ask for $$$ and I don't want them to bid against each other. I want to be able to lay out a price and first come, first served. These are the '67 style, unique y belts. Tags are gone, but condition is very nice.
I'm looking to only possibly move the belts/retractors. One of the guys interested has a correct NOS carb for my K code he'll trade so I'm now a bit more motivated to sell it to him. I've never seen these for sale, so I have not idea what the market price is.
Any suggestions for price?

The spare is upside down, which is correctly intalled I believe.

Right off of 169 and 55 at that large office building with the huge windows that look like mirrors in the sky!

Good way NOT to sell a car on ebay. No description and few pics. You would think a "motivated seller" would be motivated to type a little bit of info.

Tell me what you think of my new design!

I'll be at the Muscle Car classic on Sunday. Come by and look at mine and we can share notes on paint and finishes. She's come a long way since you've last seen her!

In the end, ask yourself: "Do I want a car, or a piece of paper.." It's not like your winning bid was out of line with the value of this car. I think you should see it in person B4 making any more decisions. It will likely get resold in the near future for more than $26K - GT or not.
-
nice car, and strong bidding $$ so far - agreed.

This will be one very expensive car when and if it ever get's restored properly. Amazingly high $$ for such a project.
I think if I were selling my car, which "may or may not" have certain highly desireable parts, I would make sure I knew what I had before listing for sale. Heck, my car "may" have a Boss 429 motor in it. Better go check!
