From the 30 sec I took to look at the pictures, I like it! Nice color combo.

Thanks for posting. Nice "classic" look to those with an understaded sidewall and tread pattern. I have Yoks on my daily driver car and have always liked them. My car has Tiger Paw Uniroyals as seen in my signature.

I wonder if it shifted in transit. I didn't notice that, but I didn't look at it too carefully either. I think I had it for 2 days. I think that repo is an older one??? I didn't notice a wire for any lights.

Yep - Flash photography will make it look shiny!
Great job - Thanks for the progress updates.

I would also be interested in this info. I have a set that looks like the one on the right for my '66.

I never had the need to talk to Kurt on the phone. We exchanged emails, and he responded quickly and courteously. I couldn't have asked for an easier person to do business with. He kept me updated on the progress without me even asking.

Well, I'll gladly let you know how it operates after it's installed. However, I can tell you that I have heard many stories about Pony Carbs not operating correctly. My mechanic pretty much swears that all the Pony Carbs he has worked with needed additional work in order to operate correctly.

Yes, stock Cast Iron for my K. My shelby clone has a high-rise with a currently installed spacer and hood clearance issues. I was told that the spacer was incorrect and that it might be contributing to my clearance issue. I also have a Holley 650 double pumper and with all the plumbing for that carb, I wonder if the spacer was needed just to help with other fitment issues. surrounding the carb and aftermarket oversized Dizzy.
-
Just verifying my information. I'm changing the carb on my K code from an aftermarket Holley to the Autolite 4100. There is currently a spacer between the carb and intake. Does the 4100 use a unique spacer, or should I assume the one I have will work?
I also heard the GT350's with the high rise manifold DO NOT use a spacer. Is that also correct? How did they keep the fuel from boiling in the carb?

Just in case anybody is curious, I had this carb restored by KP Carbs. Fast turn around, good communication and honest pricing.
-
I was looking at your damaged fastback - rear ended. You mean you didn't explode!?!?
-
Thanks for the feedback. Yea, I want it to pass for authentic and correct when the air cleaner is installed. It won't be a concours show car, but I want people to see and know what is correct on a K code when I open the hood at cruise nights and car shows.

I just received this carb from the restorer and would like some feedback about it. Looks like the plating is quite thin, especially on the choke plate area. Restorer claims it is normal and better than original. What do you guys think of this carb - obviously it's a clone, but do you think it will pass? link has more pics.

Yes, it is essential that you keep the door tag original. I personally can't stand it when people restamp their tags to suit their taste and we lose another footnote in history forever!
-
I can make you one if you want one - any size, color...
-
Personally, I would keep it as it was stock. That sounds like a nice color combo and a very interesting car/history that will be forgotten if you change it. Any car can sport a shelby hood and stripes. Keep your car unique, and don't be afraid to drive and show it (:
Nothing wrong with a 5 speed, asa you can keep the stock handle and nobody will know the difference. I wouldn't be scared to drop your freshened up K code motor in for driving, either. Your car will be happier that way (:

You do NOT need to be a SAAC member to register and post.

Sorry-just read that it had standard black. You might also consider going '65 white, and keeping your black carpet and dash. That would look nice as well. If you are converting to pony interior, you will need lots of new parts and it won't be cheap. It will be very classy, though. I think Pony interior is best represented in a convertible, no doubt.
