This may sound like a strange question, but I'll explain later...

If you think you show your car A LOT, please reply with your intent to show your car this season? How many shows/cruise events do you plan to participate in? Which National or Regional level shows do you plan to participate in with 300-500 registered cars or more?

    Thanks,

    Troy

You didn't mention the rocker panel stripes and "MUSTANG GT" badges. It sounds like you just want to add some cool over the counter options/additions to your stang. Go for it. It's not like you are trying to present it as a GT.

Their website indicated they had a FORD part I needed. They listed both the repo and the FORD part. I called and was told I could get the FORD part. He charged my card and sent me a repo. I called, he apologized for his error and asked me to ship it back for a replacement. I immediately did that, 2-3 weeks go by and nothing. I called him, and he said he was looking for my FORD part and would notify me at the end of the day. 3 days go by and nothing... I emailed him (wanted to have documentation at this point) and he told me he would refund my money b/c the part is not available. He refunded my purchase price, but not the shipping, which was MORE than the dumb part. He told me his policy is not to refund shipping costs. I pointed out it was his error, so why should I pay? He then changed his tune and stated that I was the one who made the error and ordered the wrong part. He refuses to accept the truth and his responsibility. He simply should be avoided.....He wasted 6 weeks of my time and now my money. It's not that much money, but this guys sells cars, too. I'd hate to be on the losing side of this liar with more $$$ at stake, hence my warning to you all....

Are those the new polished valve covers available in the Ford Racing catalog? I almost purchased those for my clone. How do you like them? Do you think they'll be tough to keep clean?

    sfred,

I think a $72K purchase price is a good buy. You would not be able to restore one yourself for that $$$ - assuming you find a restorable car with this color combo in the first place (likely not!) Hop on a plane, write the check and enjoy your car - It doesn't look like it should be driven, though. I hope you have a nice museum and a trailer. She is a beauty!

There are many CFM calculators and such on the web. Do a Google. When I put stock K code figures in, a 600 CFM carb is not justified. More like 450-500 CFM. With a High Rise manifold and such, a 289 still only needs 500 CFM.

So what's the deal? Why does a stock K use a 600 CFM carb, and a GT350 uses a 715?!? Isn't it way too much carb, which ultimately hurts performance?

My fastback (Not a K) has a Holley 4150 650CFM double pumper. Engine built similar to GT350 spec. Just wondering if it would work better with a much smaller carb.

I'm considering running 14x6 styled steel wheels ('65 version)and getting new tires. I found a great deal on some wheels, so I might as well.

As for tires, will 205/70SR14 size work OK? I found these in a white wall, which I need. They didn't have white wall in 195s, unless I went to a 75 profile, which I think is too tall for my taste. Will the 205/70SR14 fit OK and still be accurate for speedo and gearing?

    Thanks for your help,

    Troy

Real nice John! Did you use new chrome for the fold down? I'd like to see a close up shot of your wheels and wheel trim. It looks different than my trim rings and I'm curious about them. You say they are original?

That blog is a very nice addition to VA Classic Mustang's website. I even managed to get a post in on there!
