Wow! The kar looks fantastic. What a great order sheet this guy filled out. I think with pony interior, I'd go with a white rally pack...

Are both cars std interior?

Oops, I got the cars confused and thought the black was the GT! Disregard my previous post - In fact, I'll delete it.

Tony,
Wow - good for you!!! I don't think you had to wait long at all for that specific of a car you were looking for. Consider yourself lucky! Congratulations. No way to verify 1:1 status, though - not that it matters.

go with your gut feeling on this one. Personally, I'd rather have a blue over a black convertible (depending on the interior). Reverse the preference if it were a fastback. If the body work doesn't scare you, then let the option list be your guide. Aren't you the same Bret who specializes in the Shelbys? Use the same logic when buying a Shelby... Is this for your personal use or for investment/resale?

Do you like the colors, the way it's restored, and it's overall presentation and price? If so, buy it. If you are waiting for the same thing in a "GT", you may be waiting for many years. Especially if you want a '65. I agree with all Fred wrote as well.

LUCKY owner of a '66 GT Konvertible.

all of my Mustang friends agree with you (I do, too) in regards to that ugly rear end. Now that more people will be seeing it with this new 5.0 makes it even more important to look good!

And finally please don't add all the paint daubs and markings on the car unless your going to do all the rest correctly. Nothing more disappointing IMHO to see everything marked up like a circus only to notice that brackets or hood hinges(for example) are not the correct finish. You get the idea

I AGREE completely, and prefer the clean look myself for most cars, especially drivers.

I don't think I like it - sounds too much like the kid who made his bike into a harley by pinning a baseball card between the spokes.
This car sounds much better to me - I'm aware that the recoring/audio quality might makes a big difference as well.
-
What color top on that convertible? If white, the white walls would balance the top and bottom of the car nicely. The redlines will also look nice next to your paint, but maybe too much monotone??? Nothing wrong with a white wall - it was correct/option back in the day, no? It's not like you are going to be driving this convertible to the limits of original tires....(:
Of course, I'm biased on the white walls, since I like them and have them on my convertible. Merry Christmas!

looks like $50K, but no details yet.

Tigerpaw's are "Uniroyal" brand tires. Sounds a lot like "US Royal". Perhaps somewhere along the way, it got confused by somebody.

I don't get it either. This has to be a multi million dolar business. I imagine that at some point greed trumps quality.
-
beautiful!

With so many Mustangs needing restoration and freshening up, I can't believe that we can't find consistent good quality carpet. Certainly there is a demand. I also can't believe the quality of reproduction parts (like Nordan bumpers) can actually get worse over the years instead of better.

I love that shot of the '65 non-pony GT dash. Man, that just looks sharp with the camera case and white!
-
My rangoon red '65 convertible had std white with black appts like this. Very sharp indeed!!

what's up with the MC?

We'll see. That bidder used the BIN, and has a history with a BID retraction in the last 6 months. Nothing is final until the money exchanges hands. Seems like a strong price for a project like that. If you really want to know what your car is worth, just put it on EBAY with no reserve. Then again, your first post states you know what you have into it and you know your bottom line, so why not just set that as your reserve and see what happens. Better yet, tell us here what that price is and see if anybody is interested in purchasing it or if we feel that is unobtainable in the current market.

So 27.5 is the new 24.5??? In the dead of winter no less.
