not a whitewall, but a Goodrich Traction T/A 195/70-14 fits & looks good. And much better traction that the Radial T/A.

You are welcome to buy my car. You'll just have to come over here to drive it.

less than $1000.00
and only then if you can do all the work yourself & value your time at less than $ 10.00 per hour.

any knowledge can be used for good or evil.
I do agree that maybe the internet is not the best place for ALL the details to be revealed. To those who need to know so they don't get ripped off, get in tight with your local Mustang club. You will find someone in the know that will steer you in the right direction.
Z. Ray
according to the Ford shop manuel at 500 rpm the fuel pressure should be 4 to 6 psi ( for all models). Have you checked it yet?
Z. Ray
there are several threads on this topic over on the VMF. Do a search & I'm sure you will find the info you are looking for.

Thanks Guys for your replies!!
I think I'm going to take rr64s advise and put at the very least some commercial octane booster in my 93 octane Sunoco gasoline.
or possibly get a gallon or 2 of Sunoco racing fuel that we have here locally-its about 8.50 per gallon.
"................... you should be fine on today's premium unless you are doing "spirited" driving. I run additive because I am likely to run my Cobra wide open throttle at any time.
what additive do you use ? I've had good luck with the "race" NOS octane booster letting me run more advance with my Paxton set-up. Without it I have to dial back the advance to 32 degrees (from 40, which is stock). What I don't like about it is the red deposits it leaves on the inside of the carb & the spark plugs.

doesn't a 302 go to a 306 with a 0.030 overbore ?
Z.
mine ran well on 93 & 91 when stock. Took a 1500 trip and used Shell premium. No problems.
However when I added a vintage Paxton I began to have some pinging (still using the Hi-Po 10:1 pistons). Retarding the timing, adjusting the advance curve, and the jetting has eliminated most of it.

Quote from 66gtkReving "by ear" works just fine.... If I shift like I do my fastback (which has a tach), I rarely let her go above 4K....I get pretty terrified when I approach the 5K mark myself!
I hit the 6000 K mark every time I drive.
I certainly don't judge the driving styles of others, I'm merely pointing out that a well built K code with a stock bottom end can take 6000 - 6500 rpm with ease. If an engine is designed to take the revs, I say give it the chance to do what it was designed to do.

p.s. This has nothing to do with Hi-Po's, but my first motorcycle, a 1970 Honda CB-350, had a red line of 10,500. Guess I just learned early to appreciate the sound of rpm
the economy is a B**ch right now. These housings are a good example of a right product at the wrong time.

do you drive in rural/small town or in city traffic ? I do drive in the city occasionally, but am fearful of all the yea-hoo's driving next to me. Country roads have their hazards as well, but I'm inclined to believe they are the lessor of the two "evils".

Quote from shelbyluvaHow many miles are on that survivor Zray? It seems like you use and enjoy it!
you are correct, I do put as many miles on the car as time will allow. I've owned it since 2001 & have put 33, 494 on it since then. The odometer reads 18,494. I don't know the actual miles for certain. Let's say that 233.494 is likely, & 333,494 is also a possibility. The longest trip I've taken was about 1,500 miles (round trip) to New Mexico.
anybody else driving their car long distance ?

and for adjusting:
I believe threading the adjuster OUT decreases the pressure available to the rear brakes.
