My vintage burgundy fastback looks black at night. LOL. 200 miles since complete restoration. Bought it off ebay 2 years ago, it had been cloned into a shelby I got it, took it down to bare metal and made it better than new. Real koni shocks, real 66 shelby intake and carb, tri-y headers, 3.50 posi. All original (ford) sheet metal with many NOS parts. Basically its a not so rich mans shelby. Or poor mans, whatever. Its incredible to drive even with the bias red line tires. Ive got it listed for 59,500.00. This might sound like alot but considering what it would cost to buy and build one like this, its a deal. Ive owned and retored over 30 vintage cars including corvettes and camaros, this was not my first rodeo. call me if you would like more info and pics. thanks 678-521-3388 Atlanta GA.

Hi Chad I just finished a 66 k code fastback. Im gathering from your post that you might be in the Roswell Ga. area, I am here as well, I have owned and restored many classic stangs and I might be able to help or offer advice. Feel free to give me a call 678-521-3388.

Hello I may be new here, but not to mustang ownership. I live in Atlanta Ga. and have owned over 30 classic mustangs, I have restored found, and sold cars world wide. I currently have 3: 66 k code gt 4 speed fsbk 67 A code convertible survivor, and a 68 gt-350 convertible auto with paxton (said to be 1 of . I started viewing the site two years ago when I acquired the k code and needed a little more insight. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great info.

Hardened valve seats in my opinion is a must. My engine builder whom I have been using for 20 years wont even consider building heads without them. The other major consideration is having the engine balanced. On a true hipo you might have to leave out the (hatchet) weight, but that would enable you to use a double timing chain. Hey in the end it all comes down to what you want, and how you will use it. (I guess the hardened seats are the engine builders opinion) but I trust him.<img src=images/icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
