289Kford < You are referring to me and my 65 fastback that you saw in Youngstown. The car originaly came with the Arvinode system but it currently has the turbo style muffler. Please all K code owenrs come to the National Mustang show here in Columbus Ohio in June and we can compare notes. I hope that someone starts to reproduce the sytstem.

Charles, I have the pictures ,sorry they are not digital. The bar across the top was actually a piece of angle type medal (more like a channel ) Sadly ,we discarded the pieces when it was discovered noone could reproduce or made that style exhaust. The pictures I sent to you are the only one I took of the car. Wish I had the opportunity to place it on a rack and take pics before we disassembeled the car for restortation. From what I have seen from Ford records, the system was too loud for many and was replaced with turbo type mufflers. It would be neat to mate that exhaust with the car to make it more like it was when contructed.

Hello, The pictures that Charles has are of my Dad's Mustang, I have never seen another system like that. I wish I had kept it when I restored the car a few years back. I too would be intrested in a system. Dad always said the exhaust was special equipement onhis car and that it had a very neat sound. I was too young to remember the sound. My car is an early January 65 build and, if anyone is coming to the National Mustang show here in June (Columbus Ohio) Please look me up and introduce yourself to me. It would be a pleasure to meet some other K code Fans!

Dan I will be here and look forward to seeing many other K code owners and more fabulous Mustangs. It should be a great show!!!

Randy, nice hearing back from you, there is an all Mustang show this Sunday, August 5 at Kreiger Ford on Morse Road , starts at 10am should be around 180 cars there on display , I will be there along with many others, Dan Trapp (also from this area and a K code owner , also he is the President of the Mustang Club of Ohio) will be there, look us both up. Join the club! I have an original family owned 65 Kcode with less than 5000 original miles, I have been very fortunate and have had it appear in many magazines.I am still learning each show about the concours division, and enjoy showing it and meeting other Mustang owners. Look me up on Sunday, or email me at Mustangordon1965@yahoo.com

Hello all fellow K coders. Had a great time visiting with all the Mustang fans in Louisville. What a beautiful location and all the friendly folks made it a great weekend. Hope to see many of you in Springfield.

Hello fellow K code owners, I am going to be in Louisville with my fastback, and look forward to seeing other members while there, please look me up!

Charles, thanks for sharing pics of my original exhaust system. My early 65 fastback hd the Arvinode system. When I restored the car, I had no idea what it was, so I went with a system from Motive, (its a great fit) I have contacted Arvin and was told that old items (info included) are discarded once a particular system is discontinued. It would be nice if some former employee kept some of the literature. Look forward to seeing everyone this show season.

Hello, I have an original Carter dual quad setup on my K code. If you are intrested, let me know, I can send info and pictures. There is nothing more exciting than seeing two carbs on a hipo engine.
-
Hello, Mike, I purchased a MCA approved gel battery a few years ago for my K code and maintain it with the Battery Tender, no problems, it always is charged and starts when I want it to. Best of Luck.

My K code had the vin #stamped on the bottom of of the block and was covered by the oil pan, as you know, it is also stamped on the transmission too.

Hello fellow K code nuts, I have a set of the original Cobra medallions on my 65 K code fastback , they are like the ones pictured here, the snake is much fierecer than later models and are held on with nuts from the back side, mine are mounted under the Hipo emblems on the leading edge of the fender. As noted they were part of most any Cobra kit ordered from Ford , or were sold seperatley. If anyone would like to know more, please contact me. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving, and if anyone is in Columbus this weekend, look me up, I live in Reynoldsburg and would be happy to show anyone my car, I am very proud of it. Best regards.
