Comet did come with the K letter in the VIN but it had nothing to do with the Hi-Performance option or motor!

Depends as some people read the VIN as that because the K when it is read as the Kansas City plant.On the Comets it depends what year it is and the VIN so give me some more details!

I believe your car has the wrong housing as the 66 year cars would have been built during the July/Aug shut down start up and should have the 66 style housing in it since your car was built in Oct.1965.

I looked at my July/64 car and it has the bracket in the standard place but appears to have had the tunnel bracket also as the bracket is missing but you can still kinda see the old welds...Very odd!
