thanks for the link!
i also would like a link to
info or drawings that show
how to build the sub-frame jig
to keep the car aligned when
replacing rails etc.
thanks
iowa
wow, to pay that kind of $
it would have to have matching #'s
and i'd have to see them in person
iowa
i took the driveshaft out of the automatic coupe
and it was the 50+ inch one.
does someone have the shorter one that i could trade
for, to use it in my K car?

this is no ordinary restoration
this is masterclass work!
i can't imagine the time, effort, and K$$$$ involved.
great work
great pics

the 66 is practically free
and i plan to look at each part
and use only if identical.
the floor is not as bad as i thot,
so will try and save as much of the original
metal as possible.
i'm trying to figure out what happened to this car.
i think it was picked up by a fork lift,
with the forks perpendicular to the front and back of car,
and the rear ends of the front rails
got pushed up thru the rotten floor!
whoo!
the car is totally striped now
except for the steering gear box
and steering linkage;
can't find my pitman arm puller?
plan to build a metal frame under car
to square it up,
weld supporting braces in,
put it all on a rotisserie,
blast it,
and then start replacing metal.

i have available,
a '66 six cylinder coupe.
would this be an acceptable source
if it has a fairly solid floor,
or were these six's built with
different gauge of sheetmetal?
thanks
iowa
yes, i learned that long ago
and it has saved me many times.
i know there will some special 'K'
things i will need to save.
i found an article on sheetmetal
in the march issue of 'mustang monthly'
which talks about all the new sheetmetal
which is available now,
but it didn't mention how close to the
original that these were.
iowa
i'll wait so more before deciding
will give me time to look for parts car
and research the posts about the repro floors
while i remove old floor in my k car
thanks
