am restoring the outer part of the

left front frame extension.

in the picture below

one sees an 'S' curve above the nut i welded in.

Q did all the mustangs have this 'S' curve?

or was this unique to 'K' codes?

it is on the other side also.

i have over 5,000 books in my library

many of them technical manuals,

99% of them copywrighted,

and none of them, until now,

have every single page and diagram

obscured by the copywright logo.

I re-read NPD's descripton of these manuals,

and they do not mention anywhere that

the pages are thus printed.

i wouldn't mind if every page had a

statement that this is copywrighted material

and that illegal use of it is a crime and punishable

but to wreck these nice technical drawings is a joke.

probably won't do any good

but it seems that if one pays good $

he aught to get a good clean easily read product

i purchased the

'weld & sealant assembly manual'

from the Jim Osborn productions.

it is very nice and complete

and will be a great help in my restoration.

BUT.............

it is very obnoxious to see

Official Licensed Product

stamped onto every drawing!!!

this was obviously done

to prevent pirating of this manual

but i have to adjust my vision

off this logo each time to see the

needed information!!

anyone else have any thots about this?

or am i just silly

and the information value

far outways the 'Logo' inconvinence?

BTW, my restro is coming along

i'm in the process of fixing the

front rail extensions

have decided to leave as much of the original

parts as possible

and patch them as needed

a laborious process

but i'm game to do it

will post pic's in near future

i take it this means base coat/clear coat

were the original cars painted w/primer and just base coat only

ie w/o the clear coat?

was it lacquer or enamel?

what are the MCA judging standards for these tie downs?

if one but a 'K' car new

and these had been left on,

would there be reduction of points?

i've always been a sucker for basket cases!

and how it looked before i restored it!!

the tie down on the right is still on my car!

it too, looks like s.o. tried to hack saw through

the rear part of the rail where it is attached...

i wonder if s.o. was finally trying to remove them

and couldn't do it by removing the bolts etc.

probably will never know

here is a pic of the left tie down on my car

they were both on the car

so would assume that they had been left there!

how many of you other K owners had them left also?

here is the other side of mine

looks like a big 'cupped' out area near the hole at the top

were these removed on arrival before selling

or were they left on the car?

with it still attached

what were these tie downs used for?

i'm used to tie downs for airplanes
