Amazing... this car was for sale up here in Spokane about two years ago. I know cuz I went to look at it. Same VIN and everything. Yes there are a MILLION red flags with this car, not to mention the rear quarters both have been patched and terribly at that, and the underside of the car has some really wierd funky welding in places. I couldnt ever determine the situation but like the rear of the car was completely rusted out so they used a donor rear floor from about passenger seat area back...

Its ok if things like this need to be done, but would rather have it done professionally, and not in the garage of those two guys on the "That thing got a Hemi???" commercials...

I am talking about the flat area on top of the aprons, between the front & rear aprons, specifically between the two bolts on top that hold the coil cover on. You can see it is bowed up alittle between the bolts, and you can really see it when you look at the fender lip.<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

Ohhhh I see it now... Good eye Tiger...

Passenger shock tower is pushed up where coil spring meets apron indicating some type of suspension impact.

Not sure what you are stating here, but if you are talking about the big dent on the front side of the shock tower, that is factory for some cars? I dont know why, but I have a couple of cars that have that and some that dont, I dont know why some do and some dont?

On Jun-22-06 at 11:03:29 PDT, seller added the following information:

IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THE MAIN CAPS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH LATER MEXICAN CAPS, BID ACCORDINGLY!

That was me. This is our thread...

Can you restate clearly to buyers that this is NOT a 289 HiPo or K Code block and caps. That what you have is a standard block with Mexican 302 caps. You stating this is a 289/271HP is misleading and gives ammo to the buyer if he should dispute.

I have been told and read in Ford casting number books that a C5AE-6015-E is a hi pro block, that the last E designates that, why do you think it has Mexican caps? I looked up under Kelly hotrod and they show the C5AE-E code as the 289/271hp block.

    Thanks, Roy

C5AE-E was used in all 289 classes, 2v, 4v, 4vHiPo. This block is a run of the mill block. The screw in freeze plugs cost $20, and about $15.00 per hole to tap the block for those plugs. Please see this thread where these caps are highlighted specifically for this misunderstanding reason:

PS Please do not feel I am criticizing, I am only offering up this information, because if the buyer finds, the ad may have been misrepresented, then the seller, will need to recoup costs as well as shipping at sellers expense. That can be costly on a block.</i>

Feel sorry for the guy, he bought a standard block, maybe HiPo, but dont think so, with a set of Mexican Main Caps. Top dollar with a .040 bore, I would pay MAYBE $250. But the block would have to match a convertible cruiser car to put a .040 in it.

    Honestly, its a $200 setup.

Marv is on target. If you are going to lower the engine 'a couple of inches', that can in fact cause a problem with driveshaft.

To do this correctly you would also need to lower the tranny mount a little. You can do this exactly calculating distance from motor mount to rear of axle and tranny mount to rear of axle. A rough estimate without me going out and taking measurements, I would say 3/4 of an inch lowered on the tranny mount I think would be fine, based on a full two inch drop of engine.

It would be smart to calculate exact length, or utilize elongated straight bar for guide to driveshaft/tranny yoke 'straightness'. (is that a word?)

Hi Guys, Here are some pictures of my 66 2+2 K GT. Hope you like them.

Have a Q for PonyGT as well as others. Are your stripes factory?

It was my understanding GT stripes are to match the interior color?

I know a gentleman, that has owned his all original K Code GT Fastback, 65 I think, Gray with black standard interior with red stripes. He swears thats original and I have always cocked an eyebrow at that. He is a very honest and trustyworthy guy, 72yrs old, just sold his 66GT350H a few months ago.

Now I see PonyGT has white Int, with red stripes also. Any rules to this? What have you guys seen? Won't be the first time I have been wrong...
