You asked a question about the earlier cars having different fender emblems and you are correct as earlier built cars did have a shorter emblem and I don't know when the change came but my car is Aug.64 built car and has early emblem on fender but it is a coupe.Maybe some of the others can shed some light on the subject also as I don't know about the fastback having different emblems.

Anybody have any paint work for the HEH-S toploader on early Dearborn Hipo car?Looking for paint marks etc. to redo trans so any help appreciated.
-
How can you read that date off pic?
-
The originals I've seen were paper. They are not made like the plastic ones that are reproduced. The repops do appear pretty nice and are not pricey. How are the ones Jim makes made and what kind of money are they?
-
Gary, did you have a stamp made or use the sticker?
-
I've got one and am looking for a match if that helps?

You'll have to put it on a pallet and strap down so it can go truck freight and it's going to be high.

Have a NOS clutch disc $125 and Hipo balancer washers $50 along with Choke cable $60 for sale if anybody needs them?

My Dearborn car was built in July 64 and the rear bumper on my car doesn't have an incised date.Looks like rubber stamp deal with 4A22 off to the passenger side just outside the license plate light? This is original bumper as this car only has 9000 miles on it,quarter mile at a time.Don't have a good camera for close up.

I would like to see pics of those myself as the Dearborn car I bought the rear bumper is like new and appears to be dated also?
-
I've got a set of motor mounts if you need them?
-
There is no difference in 9 inch single rib cases other then date code.Find a case with about the same date code of your car and forget about the case being special to Hipo as they were not.The pinion support will be closely dated to case also.

As stated earlier race cars had no heater or radio as well as other deletes and that one had all the stock features.Just some stated bull to boost the price and of coarse it didn't sell.Maybe the dealer can find that sucker to believe his story for gain.
-
That "Baby Bolt" thing was a headline back in the 90's for a 64 Fairlane that one of the Hot Rod writers did and it's been widely used.Ford had NO such thing and it was used for the sucker effect. You stated some other items like motor color etc. which I didn't as most could see but again good point. Most of those car dealers were crazy and just shows what takes place at those auctions when noone really knows these cars.I'll be back again next year as there was some really nice cars there.Money wasn't in short supply on some of the upper end resto's.

I seen this car and the shock towers were cut back, alot of wrong color painted parts as well as wrong parts, alot of items added that wasn't original and was alot of repainted areas that were not original and underneath wasn't nice.Alot of wrong stuff on car that was made out to be a low mileage original car.Alot of the dealers take all these cars around to different auctions looking for one sucker who isn't that sharp to unload them on.The bid was strong and I would have sold that car if it had been mine.

Went and looked at car and bought it as it looks nice. The owners wife said he had started this project but passed and she wanted to sell it.He had a great start and very nice original sheet metal and was certainly raced. Can't believe noone knew anything about this car?

I believe I have the passenger side Hipo mount if you want to e-mail me?
-
I agree as that housing is for the 65 and not for 66.
