I agree with Fred as I've had several 64 Hipo Fairlanes that came with C-4.Was really the first year for trans but I wonder if they were different then the Mustang Hipo C-4's since they came out in 66?

Motor was black from the factory.

I probably have a pressure plate and clutch disc.

Maybe YOU can ad it up for him since you know everything!

Sounds like bull to me as my car is July/Aug 1964 built Hipo and distributor in it is C5 numbered with July 64 date and is original to my car so that story don't ad up...Sorry
-
From all the Hipo's I had and seen the blocks were painted with HP.Don't know what kind of paint but almost all the Mustangs had orange dab along with the painted HP.Early blocks I've had and seen also had sequel numbers on them.

As of yesterday he said it was for sale and I spoke for it so I guess he'll sell it to who he wants that's correct but maybe not as I've heard alot of talk about cut throat here.
-
I'll take it for that just send me an e-mail...Thanks

If your talking about the third member case get some PPG DP74 as the color is right on.Please leave $3 in the box

That makes two of us but I did see the trans with number on it.Not a real important car but maybe a practice that the Atlanta plant did.If any Galaxie guys read this that number should stir the fires up on discussion!...Thanks
-
How early is the one you have as I might be interested?

Anyone seen early narrow pattern toploader that the serial number is on the thin pad in back like the Cali built Hipo Mustangs that the numbers look like 4A66Z185360?Buddy took this out of his Mustang and the numbers are strange so can anyone decode it?

You've certainly done a super job and hope you have a climate controlled garage as all that work will be of waste if it all rusts again. That's the bad part about bare metal and would like to know what the cost was to do your car along with all the NOS parts you've bought?
-
Put me down for one?

1850 Holley is a 600cfm carb.

Thanks for your input as I remember the cars I've restored the leaf spring with the oldest date went on the passenger side. The early 65 Hipo Mustang I bought awhile back when I took the springs off to restore them the oldest spring was on the passenger side also like the others so I put it back that way.

I know that the stamping for 66 is different then 65 so you'll need a stamp for the 66 model.Yes he has passed as I bought his 65 from his wife.

This car is a Dearborn Hipo Mustang coupe built around July/Aug of 1964.I'm curious as to the grease pencil marks all over car as this is the factory race car that was for sale sometime ago that I bought?
-
Were the marks that were used under hood, frame, running gear suspension etc. put on after the outside paint work was done or before? (The yellow, white, red, etc. marks are the ones I'm asking about.)
