Good Idea, Thanks. I will add that to my research. I crawled all over the 260 car I found. Panels, engine pieces, everything I could get my eyes to see. And that car made alot of sense to me. All dates appeared as tho scheduling and plant supply parts ran without any hitches. Most engines I have seen (I don't have tons of examples, mind you), but the components all seem to run consistent with cast dates and assy. Did find one example of a 'C' code that was assy on the 12th of June but the block was casted back on May 13th. But other than that, most seem consistent. And since I do not know an 'actual' build date, I am trying to complete my car so that everything matches with some consistency....I could probably say consistent one more time.<img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

    Club 33, My balancer is a C3OE L3 also...not original.

That throws me off now. Assembled, in theory, a week later but that vin is much earlier. Mine is 5F07K163926. I found a non-hipo car with a vin sequence of 1636?9 that had an assembly date of 4F2....but it was a 260. Were K's that far behind this early in production?

I have read what is acceptable for date codes on parts. But I am trying to validate what could be original and what date would be "better" than another. For those that have original drivetrains as close to June 11th 64 as possible, what are your dates? I have done research on non-K cars, but was wondering Ford's scheduling with the K. Thanks in advance.

Read many posts over the years. Actually sign up once to update the registry, but finally signed up for real this time. I have a June 11, 64 K (as you could not tell) and looking for help on it. I have gathered pieces for a while and now its time to get specific. I have a few 64-66 Mustangs, but only one K. Looking forward to being part of the site as opposed to just reading. Thanks. Mike
