I am sure you are correct Charles but many people do not know what to look for and there are a lot of misconceptions out there not to mention people who might try to pass off a rebody as an original K.

This past Saturday, at a local cruise, I had a guy challenge me about my engine color - he said it couldn't be a 65 K engine because he was certain that they were all painted gold like what was in his 65 Falcon (he said it was a hipo). You just never know about some people and many are just too trusting and don't bother to check out what all to look for. I know that the buyer should beware but it just keeps getting harder to spot a rebodied car and that makes us all subject to some very critical reviews by our fellow Mustang owners. I think many already approach a K car with a great deal of skeptimism and this eventually can hurt the market for the real kars.

Thanks guys! Yes, Mark, I am well chuffed as to how she has cleaned up and am also very pleased that my attempt at posting pictures was a success - thanks to the detailed instructions from "gballll" in a previous post.

Still some things to do but the kar is coming along nicely.

I'm fairly new to the forum and maybe this has been discussed before, but do these wear out? Mine is rubbed smooth but appears to be in really good condition. Do they crack or is there some other stress I need to watch out for? I guess I'm wondering what the market is for thes parts if they do not wear out.

I recently installed my base arvinode system and am happy with the sound. Dave Wallace asked that I share my experience so that others who may install the system can learn. Mine was not a typical installation as my kar has been modified to have the exhaust through the rear valance (it is not a GT kar) and I like the look and wanted to keep it. I also did not want to restrict the exhaust flow so I decided to go with the non-concourse 2" high flow trumpet tips. I ordered the system through Waldron to make sure I could get a system modified for the GT style and have the rear resonator outlet have a 2" OD rather than a 1 3/4" OD (as would be for the concourse GT tips). When I took the system to my installer we noticed that the resonator outlet was reduced down to 1 3/4" and my installer was able to rework it to a 2" outlet and Joe (at Waldron) immediately offered to pay for the rework. The next issue was about which way to face the front muffler. This muffler has a small tube weled inside the muffler and the small tube is open on one end and crimped closed on the other. We did not know which way it should be mounted (open end facing the engine or facing the rear) and it seem to us to be less restrictive to the exhaust flow if it was mounted with the open end facing the rear. Turns out it should be installed the other direction with the open end facing the engine. Since there were no instructions on how to mount the muffler, Jow immediately offered to split the cost to have them turned around but due to some modifications that had to be made to the rear end of the muffler to get a good fit to the piece that goes ove the axle (the flange had to be cut off and welded directly to the over axle piece) it can not be turned around, so it will not be changed. It still sounds good and Joe says that this will not hurt the performance of the system and makes it a little more raspy sounding with a little resonance or drone possible that otherwise would not be there (I do notice a drone between 1700 & 2200 rpm's but it is not that bad). Joe also told me that he is now going to start adding a simple instruction with the system to insure the muffler is installed in the correct direction. My overall experience has been good and Waldron (Joe) has been very good to work with.

This is in no way a complaint about the system or about Waldron as I feel they truely know what customer service is all about. I only post this at Dave's suggestions so others may learn from my experience.

:DI just picked up my kar from having my base Arvinode system installed and it sounds GREAT! There was a bit of a mixup on ordering the system but Waldron Exhaust (Joe) was involved and quikly made it right. They were very good to deal with and seem to know what customer service is all about.:D

How do I tell if my fan blade is original? It has the FOMOCO script logo stamped in the blade and has a number stamped on one blade that is 911960 SC-J64. The spacer has no part number but has a FOMOCO logo on the pilot button and is 2.36" long.
