Mark,
Thanks for the suggestion. I emailed Jack at Dead Nuts On an he does not have any at the present time but suggested I contact him later next week as he was expecting some cores and many times they are still attached to the cores.

Thanks,
The mounting looks different than the original but I may give it a try as I can't seem to find any others.

I am in need of a radio suppression condensor that mounts externally on my alternator (the wire broke where it connects to the condensor), does anyone know where to buy one?

My engine machine shop owner has checked over the balancer and feels it is good and usable. He does not feel a rebuild is needed. My builder is going with his word as the expert. He has built and machined many drag and race motors so he sold know so I will go with what he says - so at this point no rebuild.
Jack
Thanks again guys. My engine still had the stock pistons and will be able to go with the 0.020 overbore and that size pistons and rings are definately available and are on order.
Jack
Thanks for the advice and I will definately go with forged pistons.
Jack
Good point Fred - I will check it.

The skirts on several of my pistons are cracking. What causes that - is it just years of wear?
Also, should I go back with a stock piston or look at upgrading?
Jack
Thanks for the info.
I called the Damper Doctor and a rebuild is $83.95 plus shipping and their turnaround time is 2 or 3 days right now - so that is a lot better than buying a new one!
Jack
Thanks again guys. Is the issue that it will be off balance without the rubber in place or is there some other issue?
I plan to call tomorrow to get a quote and will post it here.
I saw in the NPD catalog that they have a "exact repro" of the HIPO balancer for $295. Does anyone know if they are any good as this might be a way to go if the rebuild is too expensive.
Jack
Thanks Fred and Charles.

The rubber is coming out of my balancer. The engine builder is afraid to reuse it. Is this a problem and can it be fixed/rebuilt?

My fuel pump is not a button top but it looks very similar and does have the gold color filter cup. It does not have any numbers in the casting and it has "MADE IN USA" in the bottom cast piece and it has a small tag that has an "E" inside of a circle and below that is "6838 22OH". Is this a service replacement pump? My car is a January 1965, Dearborn.
Also, should the dipstick tube and the dipstick handle be painted black?

Jack
Thanks and I will look into that.

My Koupe is at the engine shop for a rebuild. Is there anything in particular to watch out for or to consider doing to make the engine more agreeable with today's gas?

On highway running 70 to 75 was 18.2 MPG and have not checked around town but would be considerably lower as I tend to accelerate a little too fast at times.

66gtk - The trip was fun even with the heat index up over a 100. We caravaned down with others in our club and it was cool to have people passing us on the interstate and then slow down and snap pitures of our cars with their cameras - I seriously doubt that it will be the same reaction in the 04. I would probably take my K again but the wife (boss) says she needs air and I am not even considering taking 2 cars. The Koupe drew a lot of curious onlookers and comments at the show so it was a good experience. I would love to see your car and will say hi if you make it.
